Brave (Kate Ceberano album)

Brave is the third studio album by Australian singer-songwriter Kate Ceberano, and was her first solo foray into pop after two previously more adult-oriented albums. The album was released in early 1989 by Regular Records. ARIA has certified the album for triple platinum sales in Australia.

Album history

A mix of contemporary pop and dance tracks and soul covers, Brave became a major success in the Australian charts, firmly establishing Ceberano as one of Australia's premier artists, and would become the most commercially successful album of her solo career.

Brave also established Ceberano's role as a chameleon of sorts, following on from successful jazz and adult oriented releases, Brave seemed to, in part, pay homage to her dance roots as a vocalist in Australian band I'm Talking, whilst also incorporating more adult oriented fare.

The album spawned a succession of four Top 40 singles; "Bedroom Eyes", "Love Dimension", "Brave"/"Young Boys Are My Weakness" and "That's What I Call Love", all of which achieved strong rotation on Australian radio and helped propel the album to triple platinum status.

Brave (Kelis song)

"Brave" is a song performed by American recording artist Kelis, taken from her fifth studio album, Flesh Tone. The up-tempo electro-dance song was written by Kelis, will.i.am, Jean Baptiste and James Fauntleroy, and produced by Benny Benassi and Alle Benassi. It was released on 6 January 2011, as the album's fourth single by will.i.am music and Interscope Records. Kelis has also re-recorded the track in 'simlish' for video game The Sims 3: Late Night.

A music video, directed by Rankin, for the single was uploaded to YouTube on November 19, 2010. The video shows a still camera of Kelis, wearing a white top with a white background behind her with the camera moving while a large beat is being played.

Brave (video game)

Brave is an adventure game adaptation based on the film of the same name developed by Behaviour Interactive and published by Disney Interactive Studios. Actress Kelly Macdonald, who voiced Mérida in the film, reprised her role for the video game. This game was originally going to be published by THQ, but was published by Disney Interactive Studios instead.

Story

The storyline of the videogame matches that of the movie up until Elinor's transformation into a bear and subsequent escape from the castle, which is where the game begins.

Mérida chases her mother through the forest until she reaches the Ring of Stones. Will-o'-the-wisps appear to guide her to the cottage of the witch from whom she originally received the spell. Confronting the witch, Mérida demands her mother be changed back. The witch then explains that the cursed bear Mor'du has been corrupting a series of waystones with his evil energy, leading to the appearance of hostile creatures. The corruption has grown to the point that it even affects the witch's magic, making its effects unpredictable, thus explaining Elinor's newly-ursine form. Due to her status as the best archer in the kingdom, the witch charges Mérida with cleansing the waystones of Mor'du's corruption.

Sustainable Sanitation Alliance

The Sustainable Sanitation Alliance (SuSanA) is a loose network of organisations who are "working along the same lines towards achieving sustainable sanitation". It began its work in 2007, one year before the United Nation's International Year of Sanitation. The original intention of creating SuSanA was to have a joint "label" for the planned activities for 2008 and to align the various partner organisations for further initiatives.

SuSanA's vision document contains a definition of sustainable sanitation which was developed by the SuSanA partners in 2007. There are currently around 240 SuSanA partner organisations. All prospective new SuSanA partner organisations have to agree to it when they join.

SuSanA is not an NGO (non-governmental organization). It has no legal structure and takes no membership fees. It is open to others who want to join and be active in the promotion of sustainable sanitation systems. The Sustainable Sanitation Alliance encourages other organisations to join the network and to become active members in the thematic working groups.
