Plavka Lonich (born March 25, 1968) is an American singer of Croatian and Peruvian origin who lives in London. She mostly performs under the name "Plavka".
Plavka is best known for being the lead singing talent of the German trance act Jam & Spoon, whose classically-infused trance sound dominated the international charts in the mid 1990's. She toured and performed around the globe with the duo, which delivered a string of hits including the worldwide dance chart number one hit "Right in the Night", as well as "Find Me (Odyssey to Anyoona)" and "Angel". Previously she was lead-singer for the seminal British acid-house band The Shamen, and performed on the group's UK and European tours.
The Croat-Peruvian singer has many dimensions to her, which have allowed her not only to star on Top of the Pops, but have also gained her access to select London jazz venues. Plavka was nominated for Best Dance Act with Jam & Spoon at the MTV European Music Awards, as at Annabel's where she recently held a jazz residency. She moved from Los Angeles to London in Spring 2004 to promote Jam & Spoon's new album when it was released on Universal Records. She also performed Jam & Spoon's final single "Butterfly Sign" at the New Pop Festival in Germany.
