Braemar i/breɪˈmɑːr/ is a village in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, around 58 miles (93 km) west of Aberdeen in the Highlands. It is the closest significantly-sized settlement to the upper course of the River Dee sitting at an altitude of 339 metres (1,112 ft).
The Gaelic Bràigh Mhàrr properly refers to the area of upper Marr (as it literally means), i.e. the area of Marr to the west of Aboyne, the village itself being Castleton of Braemar (Baile a' Chaisteil). The village used to be known as Cinn Drochaid (bridge end); Baile a' Chaisteil referred to only the part of the village on the east bank of the river, the part on the west bank being known as Ach an Droighinn (thorn field).
Braemar is approached from the South on the A93 from Glen Clunie and the Cairnwell Pass and from the East also on the A93 from Deeside. Braemar can be approached on foot from the West through Glen Tilt, Glen Feshie, Glen Dee (by the Lairig Ghru), and Glen Derry (by the Lairig an Laoigh). Braemar is within a one-and-a-half hour drive of Aberdeen, Dundee, and Perth.
MS Braemar (formerly Crown Dynasty, Cunard Crown Dynasty, Crown Majesty and Norwegian Dynasty) is a cruise ship, currently operating with Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.
The vessel was constructed in 1993 for Crown Cruise Line, operating under the name Crown Dynasty. Between 1993 and 1997, the vessel was also chartered by Cunard Line, which named the ship Cunard Crown Dynasty while under its flag.
In 1997, the vessel was transferred to Majesty Cruise Line, which renamed her Crown Majesty. This only lasted until the end of 1997, when the vessel was transferred again; this time to Norwegian Cruise Line, which renamed her Norwegian Dynasty.
The vessel returned to her original fleet and name in 1999, but was sold to Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines in 2001, where the vessel currently operates under the name Braemar. Her sister ship, originally named the Crown Jewel and now known as the MS Gemini, is currently laid up in Tilbury Docks, UK, awaiting sale or charter.
When built, the ship had a gross tonnage of 19,089 but it was stretched to its present size by Fred Olsen Lines in 2009, the new middle section containing extra cabins, lounge space and swimming pools.

Braemar may also refer to:
I settle down a twisted up frown
Disguised as a smile, well, you would have never known
I had it all, but not what I wanted
'Cause hope for me was a place uncharted and overgrown
You'd make your way in
I'd resist you just like this
You can't tell me to feel
The truth never set me free
So I did it myself
You can't be too careful anymore
When all that is waiting for you
Won't come any closer
You've got to reach out a little more
Open your eyes like I open mine
It's only the real world, life you will never know
Shifting your way to throw off the pain
Well, you can ignore it, but only for so long
You look like I did
You resist me just like this
You can't tell me to heal
And it hurts remembering
How it felt to shut down
Can't be too careful anymore
When all that is waiting for you
Won't come any closer
You've got to reach out a little more
The truth never set me free
The truth never set me free
The truth never set me free
So I'll do it myself
You can't be too careful anymore
When all that is waiting for you
Won't come any closer
You've got to reach out
Can't be too careful anymore
When all that is waiting for you
You won't come any closer
You've got to reach out more
