The band started in 1987 playing at bars, parties and every type of dive. After a pair of adjustments to the band's lineup they recorded two albums with the label Barrabás. They made themselves known by playing in venues across Madrid until 1995 when they split with Barrabás and decided to start their own production business aptly named BKT. They launched two albums, Cría Cuervos and Tu Condena, and played in rock festivals as diverse as Festimad and Metaliko Rock among others. Following this, the group decided to create a trilogy which would be named La Ruta del Ché, the three albums of which would include different versions of popular songs such as "Hasta Siempre" by Carlos Puebla and engravings made while they were on tour in countries such as Cuba, Mexico, and Argentina. At this stage of La Ruta del Ché the group took inspiration from the South American countries they visited and included a greater number of instruments and rhythms from Latin America.
After concluding Ruta del Ché, they released a new album entitled Historias Directas de Boikot, where they included a booklet and a video of the tour. This was in turn followed by the release of two new albums: De Espaldas al Mundo and Tus Problemas Crecen in 2002 and 2004 respectively. During 2007, much as in previous years, the band performed at numerous festivals in Colombia, Germany, Italy and Turkey. In Turkey the group featured in Barışarock, a festival organized under the motto "for peace, rock and the convergence of cultures" celebrated during August in Istanbul, Turkey. In addition, in 2007 the band also participated in the extensive tour "Not One Step Back" along with Reincidentes, Porretas and Sonora. Near the end of 2007 the members of Boikot traveled to Mostar, Bosnia to record their eleventh album in the Pavarotti Music Centre. Their eleventh disc was entitled Amaneció and was released on April 2, 2008 under Realidad Musical.

Boikot's music is a blend of ska, punk, hardcore punk and general rock. Bands like The Clash, La Polla Records, Kortatu, Pearl Jam, Ramones, Nirvana, NOFX, Bad Religion, Leño, Burning and Barricada influenced them. Their music is influenced by South American Latin rhythms and instruments. More recently Balkan instruments have worked their way into the group's diverse musical repertoire.

Humorology
Humorology, or "Humo" for short, is an annual juried musical/variety show that takes place at the Union Theater of the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The competition consists of six original mini musical comedies written, produced and performed by independent companies and overseen by a student-run executive board. Begun, in 1948, Humorology is one of the oldest traditions at the UW–Madison and has become the largest non-profit student service organization in Wisconsin.
About the show
Humorology is a competition among mini-musical comedy shows. Each 20-minute show takes popular music and adapts it into a story with singing, dancing, and comedy. Each show is written, directed, choreographed, and performed by students and the sets and costumes are student-made. Rehearsals begin in early October, when each cast prepares a nine-minute first half of their show to audition for the final show. Auditions take place in December when six casts are selected to move on to the final show, which is held in April in the Wisconsin Union Theater (Overture Center for the Arts 2013). In preparation for the final show, the remaining six casts lengthen their shows by nine minutes to produce an 18-minute mini-musical comedy. The six mini-musical comedies are performed over a series of three nights. On the final night of the show awards are given to the top three shows determined by a panel of judges. Additional "Caption" awards are given for Best Musical Number, Best Use of Theme, Best Female Performer, Best Male Performer, Best Dance Break, and Funniest Show.
HUMO
HUMO is a popular Dutch-language Belgian weekly radio and television supermarket tabloid.
History and profile
Humoradio (meaning a portmanteau of 'humor' and 'radio' in English) was first published in 1936 as a Dutch language counterpart to Le Moustique, now Télémoustique. During World War II between 1940 and 1944 Humoradio was not published. In 1958, when television started to reach a larger audience in the country, the magazine was renamed as Humo. The magazine is published on a weekly basis.
HUMO as it is recognized today started emerging from 1969 on, when Guy Mortier became its chief editor. He gave the magazine its playful comedic tone, put more emphasis on articles about rock music and shaped it into a magazine that appealed to a left-wing, progressive audience. During Mortier's term many classic columns, interview series, annual cultural events and comic strips that are still considered to be part of "Humo" today saw the day of light. Among those is the annual HUMO's Pop Poll, organized since 1967, which lets readers elect their favorite people, radio shows, TV shows, music groups,... of the year. Another recurring event is Humo's Rock Rally, an important Belgian contest for young rock bands,. Humo also sponsors the Rock Werchter festival since its conception in 1977. In 2003 Mortier retired.
