Anti (album)

Anti is the eighth studio album by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna, released on January 28, 2016, through Westbury Road and Roc Nation. The singer began planning the record in 2014, at which time she left her previous label Def Jam and joined Roc Nation. Work continued into 2015, during which she released three singles, including the internationally acclaimed "FourFiveSeconds"; they were ultimately removed from the final track listing. Anti was made available for free digital download on January 28 through Tidal and was released to online music stores for paid purchase on January 29. The album was launched to physical retailers on February 5.

As executive producer, Rihanna contributed to most of the album's lyrics and collaborated with producers including Jeff Bhasker, Boi-1da, DJ Mustard, Hit-Boy, Brian Kennedy, Timbaland and No I.D. to achieve her desired sound. Their efforts resulted in a departure from Rihanna's previous dance and club music genre and created a primarily pop and R&B album, with elements of soul and dancehall. The producers incorporated dark, sparsely layered, minimalist song structures, whilst most of Anti's lyrics dealt with the complexities of romantic love and self-assurance.

Anti (EP)

Anti EP is the third EP by British electronic music duo Autechre, released by Warp Records on 3 September 1994. It is the only Autechre release — EP or otherwise — to have an explicit purpose for release.

Background

Anti EP was a protest against the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, which would prohibit raves (described as gatherings where music is played), with "music" being defined as a "succession of repetitive beats." Sean Booth explained the band's strategy for the song "Flutter" by saying, "We made as many different bars as we could on the drum machine, then strung them all together."

The packaging for both compact disc and vinyl variants bore a sticker with a disclaimer about the repetitive nature of the rhythmic elements of "Lost" and "Djarum". The third track, "Flutter", was programmed to have non-repetitive beats and therefore "can be played at both forty five and thirty three revolutions"; but following their disclaimer, it was advised that DJs "have a lawyer and a musicologist present at all times to confirm the non repetitive nature of the music in the event of police harassment." The sticker acted as a seal, which was required to be broken in order to access the media enclosed in the packaging.

ANTI (computer virus)

ANTI is an obsolete computer virus affecting Apple Macintosh computers running early System versions up to Mac OS 8.1. It is particularly notable for being the first Macintosh virus not to create additional resources within infected files; instead, it patches any existing resource that has an ID of 1 and begins with a JSR instruction (generally the Main resource in a given application).

The virus carries no payload, and thus can exist and spread indefinitely without being noticed until an anti-virus program is run. It can not spread if MultiFinder is running. Based on the virus's design, Danny Schwendener of ETH Zurich hypothesised that it had been intended to form part of a copy protection scheme, but the author of the virus is unknown.

HERO Magazine was an American glossy bimonthly gay magazine co-founded in 1997 by Sam Jensen Page and Paul Horne. The magazine stopped publication in January 2002. It was based in Los Angeles.

    Overview

The magazine rode the wave of the "mainstreaming" of gay culture and was the first gay magazine to be classified as "highly recommended" by Library Journal. It published the first automotive column in a national gay magazine, the first gay man's wedding guide, etc. HERO turned away from the "sex sells" attitude of many other gay publications, and did not accept adult or tobacco advertising. The magazine was also more inclusive of couples and men over 40 than other gay men's magazines at the time.

After fast growth in its first 3 years, the magazine's financial backing was frozen after September 11, 2001, and the publication ceased operations in January 2002. Parent company HERO Media continues to develop other online and print publications, including SpaTravelGuy.com.

    Hero (Charlotte Perrelli song)

"Hero" is a 2008 pop song performed by the Swedish singer Charlotte Perrelli written by Fredrik Kempe and Bobby Ljunggren. It was rumoured the song was going to be sung by Måns Zelmerlöw, but Charlotte was first choice and finally Charlotte was chosen for the SVT. It won the Melodifestivalen 2008 on 15 March 2008 at the Globen. Due to this, it represented Sweden at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade, Serbia.

The single "Hero" was released on 12 March 2008. It topped the Swedish Singles chart, and was certified Gold, in recognition of 10,000 copies sold. After the contest, it was certified Platinum, as 40,000 copies sold. The song entered the 3rd place at Svensktoppen on 13 April 2008, and it stayed on the chart for eight weeks until 1 June 2008 peaking at #3. The Swedish single top 100, she peaked at #1 for 5 weeks, and left the charts after 19 weeks. Her position in the 'best of all time' is #503 with 769 points.

    Eurovision

During the month of April and part of May, Perrelli went on a promotional tour through Europe. She visited Germany, Belgium, Albania, Montenegro, Serbia and the Netherlands. The single was released to radio stations in those countries to which she competed in the semifinal. She originally planned to visit Russia as well, but she didn't receive a visa in time and her tour there was cancelled.

    Boot

A boot is a type of footwear and a specific type of shoe. Most boots mainly cover the foot and the ankle, while some also cover some part of the lower calf. Some boots extend up the leg, sometimes as far as the knee or even the hip. Most boots have a heel that is clearly distinguishable from the rest of the sole, even if the two are made of one piece. Traditionally made of leather or rubber, modern boots are made from a variety of materials. Boots are worn both for their functionality protecting the foot and leg from water, extreme cold, mud or hazards (e.g., chemicals) or providing additional ankle support for strenuous activities with added traction requirements (e.g., hiking) and for reasons of style and fashion.

In some cases, the wearing of boots may be required by laws or regulations, such as the regulations in some jurisdictions requiring workers on construction sites to wear steel-toed safety boots. Some uniforms include boots as the regulated footwear. Boots are recommended as well for motorcycle riders. High-top athletic shoes are generally not considered boots, even though they do cover the ankle, primarily due to the absence of a distinct heel. In Britain, the term may be used to refer to football (soccer) cleats.

    Better Than U

    by: Anti-hero

You thought by now I would have been something
I thought by now I could mae you see
I thought by now maybe you'd realize
It's you who's holding me back not me
Let's take a walk down memory lane dear
Can you count anytime I've admitted defeat?
It's always you calling me the failure
What the hell have you done to think you're so above me?
    No better than me
    No better than her
    No better than him
    We're all better than you
So once again I'm the poor investment
Once again, You're disappointed in me
Don't understand anything that I stand for
All you care about is stealing my credit and money
Let's take a trip now, one day in my shoes
All I can offer's been put into my dreams
You only can see your own perspective
Have you ever given one thought of what it means to me?
    No better than me
    No better than her
    No better than him
    We're all better than you
You'll never understand what it means to love
You'll never get why I'll never give up
You can't comprehend what it means to pursue one's dreams
You'll never realize you tore our relationship at the seams
    Better than you
    Better than you
    Better than you
