Bonnaroo Music Festival

The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival is an annual four-day music festival developed and produced by Superfly Presents and AC Entertainment; since its first year in 2002, it has been held at what is now Great Stage Park on a 700-acre (2.8 km²) farm in Manchester, Tennessee, USA. The festival typically starts on the second Thursday in June and lasts four days. Main attractions of this festival are the multiple stages featuring live music with a diverse array of musical styles including indie rock, classic rock, world music, hip hop, jazz, americana, bluegrass, country music, folk, gospel, reggae, pop, electronica, and other alternative music. Musical acts play from around noon until 4:00am or later.

The festival began with a focus on jam bands and folk rock; it has diversified in recent years but continues to pay tribute to its roots. Notable acts have included Arctic Monkeys, Elton John,Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Paul McCartney, Tool, The Beach Boys, Kanye West, Phish, My Morning Jacket, Stevie Wonder, The White Stripes, Neil Young, Pearl Jam, Tom Petty, The Dead, The Allman Brothers Band, James Brown, Wilco, Bon Iver, The Flaming Lips, Willie Nelson, Mumford and Sons, Jay Z, Bob Dylan, The Black Keys, Zac Brown Band, Dave Matthews Band, Buffalo Springfield, The Police, Arcade Fire, Jack Johnson, The Strokes, The Black Crowes, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bruce Springsteen, Beastie Boys, Kings of Leon, The Decemberists, ZZ Top, Billy Joel, and Widespread Panic. The festival features craftsmen and artisans selling unique products, food and drink vendors, a comedy tent, silent disco, cinema tent, and a Ferris wheel.

2010 Bonnaroo Music Festival

The 2010 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival was held on June 10–13, 2010. The line-up was announced Tuesday, February 9, although the original line-up release date was scheduled for February 2. It was broadcast live on YouTube. Pre-sale tickets went on sale November 27, 2009.

Line-up

The majority of artists were announced on Bonnaroo's official MySpace and Twitter pages over a span of nine hours. On March 4, Ween, John Butler Trio, Umphrey's McGee, Galactic, The Gossip, and Circa Survive were added to the line-up. On March 11, it was announced that Conan O'Brien would stop at the festival during The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour. Recordings of Tenacious D's performance on June 11 were released for free on the Live Music Archive.

2009 Bonnaroo Music Festival

The 2009 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival was held June 11–14, 2009 at a 700-acre (2.8 km²) farm in Manchester, Tennessee,  United States. There were roughly 75,000 people in attendance. The onset of Bonnaroo 2009 was punctuated by monstrous thunderstorms. Thursday night included heavy rain, lightning, strong winds and hail. A lighter storm passed over the farm on Friday. The resulting mud became a hardship for some and a plaything for others.

Lineup

The initial lineup was released on the festival's website at midnight on February 3, 2009.Phish performed a traditional 2-set headlining spot on Sunday night as well as a late night set on Friday night. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band performed Saturday.

Down and The Ting Tings appeared on the initial lineup but were later removed.

The previously annual Superjam did not take place, and for the first time in Bonnaroo's eight-year history, not a single The Grateful Dead member performed at the festival.
