Bonkers!

Bonkers! was an ATV variety show, distributed by ITC Entertainment in the United States for syndication during the 1978-79 television season, and later airing in 1979 in the United Kingdom. Made at ATV's Elstree studios near London.

Starring Bob Monkhouse and the Hudson Brothers - Bill, Brett and Mark - the show featured sketches, guest stars and musical numbers from the chorus dancers known as The Bonkerettes. Whilst not a big hit for ATV, it gained a cult audience in the United States where it was compared to Saturday Night Live.

After four episodes the show was curtailed in the UK by the 13-week-long ITV strike of 1979 and did not reappear when the network restarted broadcasts; however, production for syndication continued and 24 episodes in total were made.

Bonkers! (game)

Bonkers! (also known as This Game is Bonkers!) was a race-style board game designed by Paul J. Gruen and produced by Parker Brothers and later by Milton Bradley. The object was to be the first player to score 12 points by adding instruction cards to the empty spaces in an attempt to move to several scoring stations. The game's slogan (for both versions) was "It's Never the Same Game Twice!"

Bonkers (compilation album series)

The Bonkers series was one of the leading happy hardcore compilation series in the UK. The first release was in 1996 on record label React (now Resist), it was available on 2xCD and 2xTC formats. DJs DJ Sharkey and Hixxy were signed by React and the pair released "Bonkers", the first in a series of albums which has become the best-selling hardcore compilation series of all time. The series is currently on its nineteenth release, with Bonkers: The Original Hardcore having been released on 11 May 2009.

Background

Bonkers 1-15 was also licensed to "Get over the records" in 2005 for Japanese branded releases. With Japanese edition Bonkers vol. 1 on going on sale 26 October 2005 with a full TV advert in Japanese. "Get over the records" only released Bonkers 1-7 in the Japanese market and have since 2007 stopped releasing albums altogether.

Bonkers has also been licensed for local release in Australia via Central Station records.

Bonkers (2007 TV series)

Bonkers is a UK television series written by Sally Wainwright and starring Liza Tarbuck. It was transmitted on ITV during 2007. It was also released on DVD. This series is available on DVD, distributed by Acorn Media UK.

In July 2007, the playwright and actress Tricia Walsh-Smith filed a claim in the High Court for breach of copyright, claiming that the pilot episode was copied from her 1987 play, also called "Bonkers".

Bonkers (TV series)

Bonkers is an animated American television series and a spinoff of the earlier series Raw Toonage. It aired from September 4, 1993 to February 23, 1994 in first-run syndication (after a "preview airing" on The Disney Channel in early 1993). The syndicated run was available both separately, and as part of The Disney Afternoon. Reruns of the show continued in syndication until 1995. The show was last seen on Toon Disney, but was taken off the schedule in late 2004.

Premise

The premise of the series was that Bonkers D. Bobcat, an anthropomorphic bobcat who was a popular cartoon star, had washed out of show business and became a cop. He was made the junior partner of Detective Lucky Piquel, a grim and ill-tempered human who hates toons. Throughout the series, the pair work together to solve crimes in the Hollywood, Los Angeles, California region. Bonkers repeatedly tried to win Piquel's praise, but usually just ended up ruining missions with his antics.

After multiple episodes of working with Bonkers, Piquel was given an FBI job in Washington, D.C., and with great glee was finally able to leave Bonkers, but finally realized that after all the time spent hating working with Bonkers he had grown to love him. At the end of the "Lucky" episodes, Bonkers was given a new partner, the attractive Officer Miranda Wright. Although also human, she was far more patient and tolerant of his antics than was Piquel. With Miranda, Bonkers was more the brunt of the slapstick.
