Bones (soundtrack)

Bones: Original Motion Picture Houndtrack is a soundtrack album for the horror film, Bones. It was released on October 9, 2001 under Doggystyle Records and Priority Records. It peaked at #39 on the Billboard 200, #14 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and #4 on the Top Soundtracks chart. The soundtrack features songs mainly by Snoop Dogg, but it also features songs by Kurupt, Xzibit, Kokane, Tha Eastsidaz, D12, LaToiya Williams, Cypress Hill and more. "Dogg Named Snoop" was the only single released from the soundtrack.

Bones is an American crime drama television series that premiered on September 13, 2005, on Fox.

The show is based on forensic anthropology and forensic archaeology, with each episode focusing on an FBI case concerning the mystery behind human remains brought by FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) to the forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel). The rest of the main cast includes Michaela Conlin as forensic artist Angela Montenegro, T. J. Thyne as entomologist Dr. Jack Hodgins, Eric Millegan as Dr. Zack Addy (seasons 1–3), Jonathan Adams as Dr. Daniel Goodman (season 1), Tamara Taylor as pathologist Dr. Camille Saroyan (introduced in season 2), John Francis Daley as psychologist Dr. Lance Sweets (seasons 3–10), and John Boyd as FBI agent James Aubrey (introduced in season 10). Created by Hart Hanson, the series is very loosely based on the life and writings of novelist and forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs, who also produces the show. Its title character, Temperance Brennan, is named after the protagonist of Reichs' crime novel series. Similarly, Dr. Brennan in the Bones universe writes successful mystery novels featuring a fictional forensic anthropologist named Kathy Reichs. Bones is a joint production by Josephson Entertainment, Far Field Productions and 20th Century Fox Television. The series is the longest-running one-hour drama series produced by 20th Century Fox Television.

Weatherly Building

The Weatherly Building in Portland, Oregon is a 12-story commercial office building. It was built in 1926 by ice cream businessman George Warren Weatherly.

According to a photograph dated December 21, 1927 held by the Library of Congress as part of the Historic American Buildings Survey collection (labeled "Stevens Commercial Photographers") the building was designed by architects Sutton & Whitney and Lee Thomas, and was built by Robertson Hay & Wallace general contractors.

Background

Weatherly's creamery business started with a second-hand freezer in a small candy shop in 1890 and grew to produce an estimated 90% of Oregon ice cream sales. He was "locally credited" with inventing the ice cream cone and to have been the "east side's leading citizen in the 1920 and 1930s". The building helped develop the so-called "uptown district" and had an ice cream shop on its ground floor. An employee of Weatherly's, F. A. Bruckman, invented and patented the first successful cone manufacturing machine.

Weatherly (yacht)

Weatherly (US 17) was an unsuccessful defence candidate for the 1958 America's Cup and victorious defender in the 1962 America's Cup.

Design

Weatherly was a keel sloop designed to the 12-Metre Rule. She was designed by Philip Rhodes and built by Luders Marine Construction Company at Stamford, Connecticut for a syndicate of owners formed by Henry D. Mercer, with Cornelius S. Walsch and Arnold D. Frese. Weatherly was launched in 1958. She was built of steel frames with mahogany planking.

Career

Skippered by Arthur Knapp, Weatherly competed with Columbia, Easterner, Gleam, and Vim for the right to defend the America's cup but was outclassed in the 1958 selection trials. Columbia went on to successfully defend the Cup in 1958.

Modified by Philip Rhodes at Luders yard in 1962, Weatherly was redesigned with a shorter bow and reduced wetted surface. Weight saved in the redesign was put into the keel.

The defender selection trials pitted Weatherly against Columbia, Easterner and Nefertiti. On 25 August 1962, the NYYC selected Weatherly to defend the Cup against Australian challenger Gretel. Skippered by Emil "Bus" Mosbacher, Jr., in September 1962, Weatherly defended the Cup 4–1 against Gretel.

Weatherly 620

The Weatherly 620 is a 1970s American agricultural monoplane designed and built as an improved variant of the Weatherly 201 by the Weatherly Aircraft Company of McClellan, California.

Design

The Weatherley 620 is an all-metal single-seat low-wing cantilever monoplane with a conventional landing gear with a tailwheel. Examples have been fitted with a Pratt & Whitney R-985 radial engine, and PT6A or TPE331 turboprop engine, driving a three-bladed tractor propeller. In the forward fuselage, the aircraft has a 355 US gallon (1344 litre) hopper that feeds an agricultural dispersal system.
