The Bobby Bones Show

The Bobby Bones Show is the name of an American nationally syndicated weekday country radio morning show. The Bobby Bones Show originates from studios at WSIX-FM in Nashville, Tennessee. The show, which is syndicated by Premiere Networks, launched nationwide on Country radio in February 2013 and reaches millions of listeners on nearly 100 stations, including markets such as Washington, D.C., Boston, MA, and Miami, FL. The program is also heard nationally via iHeartRadio, iHeartMedia's free all-in-one streaming music and live radio service digital service. In June, 2014 it was announced that Bobby Bones had signed a long term contract extension with iHeartMedia (formerly Clear Channel Media and Entertainment).

Bobby Bones is accompanied by co-hosts Lunchbox and Amy, and sidekicks Eddie, Alayna, Ray and Nada.

Prior to 2013, The Bobby Bones Show was a Top-40 based program, also syndicated by Premiere Networks. Jay Shannon was the program director. On July 18, 2011, it was announced that Bones had signed a three-year extension to do mornings for Clear Channel's KHFI-FM, and also signed a deal with Premiere for syndication rights.

Bobby Bones

Bobby Bones is an American musician and actor based in Los Angeles. He first emerged onto the music scene in the early 1980s with punk rock band The Mau Maus and after 1987 was with Demolition Gore Galore.

After a 10-year break, he returned with another punk rock band The Flesh Eaters. Bobby then went on to be in garage rock band The Morlocks, and psychedelic rock band Spindrift.

His acting debut was a role in the 2008, American independently produced film The Legend of God's Gun in which he played a gun-slinging preacher returning to the debaucherous town of Playa Diablo seeking revenge from the notorious scorpion-venom drinking bandito El Sobero.

Bobby is a member of The Silver Chords and also of Sky Parade who will be embarking on a west coast tour later in the year with Mark Gardener from Ride.

Early life

Bobby Estell (aka Bobby Bones) was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Pamela Hurt, a single mother who became pregnant at age 15. He was raised in the small community of Mountain Pine, Arkansas, by his mother and maternal grandmother. His biological father was with him until the age of 5, but then disappeared. Bobby began dreaming of a radio career around the age of 5 or 6. Bones grew up poor in a trailer park, and often viewed radio as a ticket out of poverty. Bones began his radio career at age 17 at the campus station of Henderson State University, KSH-FM 91.1. He graduated with a B.A. in Radio/Television from Henderson in 2002.

Career

Early professional career

While still in college, Bones went to work as a station hand at KLAZ 105.9 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, but was put on the air within a few days of being hired. A manager there gave him the choice of going on the air as Bobby Z or Bobby Bones. In 2002, Bones was hired by Q100/KQAR in Little Rock, Arkansas. While there, he broke into another radio station (ALICE 107.7), which led to his next job in Austin, Texas, to begin hosting The Bobby Bones Show on 96.7 KISS FM.
