Bob Lord

Robert "Bob" Lord (born March 12, 1963) is an Advertising and Technology executive and former President of AOL. Lord was appointed CEO of AOL Platforms in 2013 and then promoted to AOL President until January 2016. Prior to AOL, he was CEO of Razorfish, a digital advertising agency which provides services such as web development and emerging media, technology and social influence marketing.

Bob is the co-author of the book Converge: Transforming Businesses at the Intersection of Marketing and Technology, which discusses how technology, media, and creativity are uniting and how this shift is revolutionizing marketing and business strategy.

He is a member of the Nantucket Project Advisory Board and a member of the Board of Directors of the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG).

Personal life

Bob currently lives in New Canaan, Connecticut with his wife and three children. He is a graduate of Syracuse University, graduating with a B.S. in Engineering. He is also a graduate of Harvard Business School.

Robert William "Bob" Lord (19 June 1908–8 December 1981) was an English businessman best known as the chairman of Burnley Football Club

Born in 1908 in Burnley, Lancashire, Lord was the son of a barber. As a boy he worked for a local butcher, until at the age of 19 he started his own business. Lord's butchery business eventually grew into 14 shops.

Lord was an avid follower of his local football club, Burnley F.C., and in 1950 attempted to join the board. This approach was blocked, but another position became available a year later. Lord was the sole candidate, and thus became a board member. He became chairman in 1955.

The early years of Lord's chairmanship were the most successful in the club's history. Following the appointment of Harry Potts as manager in 1958, Burnley were league champions in 1960, and reached the FA Cup Final in 1962. The club became renowned for their youth policy, which yielded players such as Jimmy McIlroy, Willie Morgan and Martin Dobson, and investment in a new training ground gave Burnley some of the most advanced facilities in the country. Lord oversaw major redevelopment of Turf Moor, including a new stand at the Cricket Field end, and a replacement for the Main Stand that Lord named after himself. Both stands were opened by Conservative Party leader Edward Heath, who was a friend of Lord's. As of 2014 both the Cricket Field Stand and Bob Lord stand are still in use.

Bob Lord is a producer/composer/bassist and CEO of PARMA Recordings, parent company of label imprints Navona Records, Ravello, Big Round, MMC, and Capstone Records. He is also notable for being the bassist/composer of the experimental rock trio Dreadnaught, Music Director for the NHPR/Music Hall series Writers on a New England Stage, and in-studio producer of Grammy-winning clarinetist Richard Stoltzman.

He has more than 150 credits as a producer, executive producer, performer, arranger, label manager, and composer, and with Pete Townshend of The Who served as co-producer for the double-album release by Lawrence Ball, Method Music.

Composer & bassist

Lord's musical output spans the rock, classical, jazz, pop, film, and experimental genres, and he has composed, produced, and arranged for a wide cross-section of instrumentation, including orchestra ("James Thresher Industries"), rock band ("The Elevator Chaser"), piano ("Kazak, The Hound Of Space"), string orchestra ("Creepin'"), and electronics ("Agah Eegah"). His music is largely instrumental and generally eschews song format, with some exceptions ("Bony Cleave", "Danny").
