Erroll Garner
Erroll Louis Garner (June 15, 1923 - January 2, 1977) (some sources say 1921) was an American jazz pianist and composer known for his swing playing and ballads. His best-known composition, the ballad "Misty", has become a jazz standard. Scott Yanow of Allmusic calls him "one of the most distinctive of all pianists" and a "brilliant virtuoso". He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6363 Hollywood Blvd.
Career
Born with his twin brother Ernest in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to an African American family on June 15, 1923, Erroll began playing piano at the age of three. His elder siblings were taught piano by Miss Bowman. From an early age Erroll would sit down and play anything she'd demonstrated, just like Miss Bowman, his eldest sister Martha said. He attended George Westinghouse High School, as did fellow pianists Billy Strayhorn and Ahmad Jamal. Garner was self-taught and remained an "ear player" all his life – he never learned to read music. At the age of seven, he began appearing on the radio station KDKA in Pittsburgh with a group called the Candy Kids. By the age of 11, he was playing on the Allegheny riverboats. At 14 in 1937, he joined local saxophonist Leroy Brown.

37 Channels is the fifth studio album by American rock band Tantric released on September 17, 2013 via Pavement Entertainment.
Background and recording
On August 8, 2013 via Pavement Entertainment it was announced that Tantric would be releasing their fifth studio album titled 37 Channels on September 17, 2013.
Lead singer Hugo Ferreira remained the only sole member of the band during the album's recording.
Ferreira commented on the album saying:"I didn’t let people jerk off all over this record, I’m very protective of it. I used to let things go, but I literally oversaw every aspect of 37 Channels." Ferreira also explained the songwriting of the album saying:"I can’t afford a therapist, so this is what I do. I regurgitate all my angst and pain and confusion and joy. I’m showing more, letting people into my brain and heart."
Soon after the release of the album in the fall of 2013 Hugo recruited drummer TJ Taylor, bassist Scott Wilson and guitarist Derek Isaacs and went on to tour in support of the album. Since then they have become official members of the band.
Blue Room (1926 song)
"Blue Room" is a show tune from the 1926 Rodgers and Hart musical The Girl Friend, where it was introduced by Eva Puck and Sammy White.
Early recordings
It was recorded by The Revelers on June 8, 1926 and originally released by Victor as catalog number 20082B, with the flip side "Valencia"; it was re-released by Victor as catalog number 24707, with the flip side "Dancing in the Dark."
In June 1927, while the Hamilton Sisters and Fordyce were on tour in England they recorded two versions of this song one with The Savoy Orpheans, and the other with Bert Ambrose and His Orchestra.
Another recording was made on October 17, 1933 by the Dorsey Brothers Orchestra, and released by Brunswick Records as catalog number 6722, with the flip side "Fidgety Feet."
Another recording was made on July 16, 1934 by Isham Jones and his orchestra, and released by Victor Records as catalog number 24701A, with the flip side "Georgia Jubilee."
Another recording was made on December 15, 1936 by Jan Garber and his orchestra, and released by Brunswick Records as catalog number 7870, with the flip side "Moonlight and Roses." The same recording was later released by Vocalion Records as catalog number 5484 and by Conqueror Records as catalog number 9496, both with the flip side "Home on the Range."
