Early life [link]

James was raised in suburban Melbourne.[2] He received his education at a private school, where he was active in music, playing trumpet as well as singing with the choir.[3] Foregoing university, James became a DJ at OneLove, a popular Melbourne nightclub that has also helped launch the careers of Grant Smillie and Dirty South.[4] He saved money that he earned mixing songs in Melbourne to travel the world and perform sets in other countries, "kind of like a backpacking DJ."[3]

BodyRockers [link]

Before he started his career as a soloist, James was one half of BodyRockers, who rose to prominence in 2005 with their first release, "I Like the Way (You Move)".[4] This guitar-laden dance track reached #3 on the UK Singles Chart in April 2005[5] and achieved popularity in other regions of the world as well. A self-titled album was released, as was the group's follow-up single, "Round and Round". The duo, James and British guitarist Dylan Burns, toured extensively in 2005 and 2006 and recorded a second album, but according to James, "we just didn't get around to releasing it".[6] BodyRockers then parted ways in 2006.

Solo career [link]

In 2008, Kaz James released his debut single, "Breathe", which features Canadian actor and musician Stu Stone. The music video was directed by Fred Schepisi.[7] On 13 September 2008 he released his second song, "We Hold On". His debut album If They Knew was released in Australia and New Zealand in October 2008. In early 2009, James released his next single, "Can't Hold Back", featuring vocals by Macy Gray. This song became James' first solo song to reach the Top 50 on the Australian pop chart, peaking at #42.[8] Other tracks on the album include "All Fall Down", which features former House of Pain and Limp Bizkit member DJ Lethal.

In April 2008 James was the DJ for both the MTV Australia Awards as well as for the official after party.[7] In late 2008 James appeared on the Stereosonic tour, along with Paul van Dyk, Carl Cox, Booka Shade, Sneaky Sound System and Pnau.[2]

Blood pressure

Blood pressure (BP) is the pressure exerted by circulating blood upon the walls of blood vessels. When used without further specification, "blood pressure" usually refers to the arterial pressure in the systemic circulation. It is usually measured at a person's upper arm. Blood pressure is usually expressed in terms of the systolic (maximum) pressure over diastolic (minimum) pressure and is measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg). It is one of the vital signs along with respiratory rate, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and body temperature. Normal resting blood pressure in an adult is approximately 120/80 mm Hg.

Blood pressure varies depending on situation, activity, and disease states. It is regulated by the nervous and endocrine systems. Blood pressure that is low due to a disease state is called hypotension, and pressure that is consistently high is hypertension. Both have many causes which can range from mild to severe. Both may be of sudden onset or of long duration. Long term hypertension is a risk factor for many diseases, including kidney failure, heart disease, and stroke. Long term hypertension is more common than long term hypotension in Western countries. Long term hypertension often goes undetected because of infrequent monitoring and the absence of symptoms.

Blood pressure (disambiguation)

Blood pressure may refer to:

  • Blood pressure, sometimes referred to as arterial blood pressure, the pressure exerted by circulating blood upon the walls of blood vessels
  • Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure
  • Blood Pressures, the fourth studio album by indie rock band The Kills
  • Blood Pressure (film), a 2012 Canadian film
  • Blood Pressure (film)

Blood Pressure is a 2012 Canadian film co-written, directed and produced by Sean Garrity. The film stars Michelle Giroux as a pharmacist who is unhappy with her life and marriage, who starts to receive letters from an anonymous admirer, asking her to undertake increasingly risky activities.

    Production

The idea for the film originated in a writer's group in the Neighbourhood Bookstore and Cafe in Wolseley, Winnipeg, and is based on a story by the film's cowriter Bill Fugler. Garrity then added narrative elements to bring the idea to the big screen. The director had planned to shoot the film in Winnipeg when a sudden career opportunity for his wife led to them relocating to Toronto. Garrity found the expense of shooting in a big city to be financially and physically draining, compared to his experiences in his native Winnipeg. In an effort to find a big enough house for the film's middle-class main characters, who would not be able to afford such a large residence in Toronto, Garrity ended up filming in suburban Richmond Hill, Ontario.

    We Hold On

    by: Kaz James

I look back at the moment when I lost myself,
Too blind to see I changed to someone else,
I fixed the wrongs did what was true,
Kept the best of me, left the old for the new,
I keep my eyes on the real, let love stand tall,
You stood by me through the rise and the fall
Now I'm keeping on top with the people I choose,
It was killing me when I believed in you.
    We hold on,
    We hold on,
We hold on to, to what we do
    Repeat
    To what we do ( x 4)
    When it comes around ( x 4)
I gave myself some time it was the thing to do,
Tried to keep from down, tried to push on through,
Turn left turn right, who do I look to,
When the ones you trust just won't trust you,
Held my pace, kept my speed, didn't fade away,
Left the bitter hate found a brand new day,
No more feeling depressed, just short of breath,
My anxiety's gone now I'll leave this mess,
    We hold on,
    We hold on,
We hold on to, to what we do.
    To what we do ( x 4)
    We hold on
    We hold on
    We hold on to.
When it comes around (x 4)
    We hold on
    We hold on
