Bliss is a modernist short story by Katherine Mansfield first published in 1918. It was published in the English Review in August 1918 and later reprinted in Bliss and Other Stories.

Bliss is the name of the default computer wallpaper of Microsoft's Windows XP operating system. It is an image of a rolling green hill and a blue sky with cumulus and cirrus clouds. The landscape depicted is in the Los Carneros American Viticultural Area of Sonoma County, California, United States.

Overview

Former National Geographic photographer Charles O'Rear, a resident of the nearby Napa Valley, took the photo on film with a medium-format camera while on his way to visit his girlfriend in 1996. While it was widely believed later that the image was digitally manipulated or even created with software such as Adobe Photoshop, O'Rear says it never was. He sold it to Corbis for use as a stock photo. Several years later, Microsoft engineers chose a digitized version of the image and licensed it from O'Rear.

Over the next decade it has been claimed to be the most viewed photograph in the world during that time. Since it was taken, the landscape in it has changed, with grapevines planted on the hill and field in the foreground, making O'Rear's image impossible to duplicate for the time being. That has not stopped other photographers from trying, and some of their attempts have been included in art exhibits.

Delirious (band)

Delirious is a thrash metal band from Hamm, Germany, formed in 1990. They performed a cover of the German band Blind Guardian's song "Majesty" that was included on the Blind Guardian tribute album Tales From the Underworld.

Delirious (2006 film)

Delirious is a 2006 film released directed by Tom DiCillo. It stars Steve Buscemi, Michael Pitt and Alison Lohman.

It is the story of twenty-year-old Toby Grace (Michael Pitt) who progresses from a homeless scavenger in New York City to the assistant of a neurotic paparazzo, Les Galantine (Steve Buscemi), then falls in love with a famous singer, K'harma.

Plot

Toby and Les meet when Toby interrupts a crowd of paparazzi waiting to take pictures of pop diva K'harma Leeds (Allison Lohman). Les requests that Toby go get coffee for himself and two of his colleagues. On his way back with coffee, Toby is stopped by K'harma's agents from the inside of a building and asked to see if the photographers are looking.

After the photographers look away, the agents guide K'harma past Toby towards a car. The photographers catch on and rush towards the car, colliding with Toby and spilling some coffee. Later that night, Toby approaches Les outside his apartment, scaring him. He claims that he was bringing his change back from the coffee, but eventually asks to stay with him that night, saying that he is really cold and doesn't have a place to stay. The next day, Toby offers to be his assistant for free, which Les accepts. Later that night, after being thrown out of a party, Les and Toby overhear a celebrity's agent talking about where his client is getting surgery done on his penis. Toby writes down the address, and they show up there the next day. After waiting for quite some time, Les gets a shot of the celebrity, referring to it as "the shot heard 'round the world", although he only gets $700 for it.

Boneless (song)

"Boneless" is a track by American DJ and producer Steve Aoki in collaboration with dance music producers Chris Lake and Tujamo, courtesy of and in association with the original producer and composer Aid Vllasaliu. The song was named after the skateboarding trick of the same name. It was released on August 23, 2013 through Dim Mak Records and Ultra Records. The single received success through various dance charts in Europe; it peaked the overall singles charts at #49 in Germany, #42 in Austria, and #44 in Belgium (Wallonia).

Delirious (Boneless)

A vocal version of the song, entitled "Delirious (Boneless)", was released on June 3, 2014 as the second single from Steve Aoki's second studio album Neon Future.I. This version features rapper Kid Ink and was co-written by Erin Beck, Whitney Phillips, Jenson Vaughan, and Aid "Valsal" Vllasaliu. The song was featured in the soundtrack of the 2014 original motion picture film Step Up: All In (as well as Aoki's previous single "Rage the Night Away"), the song was also featured on the 2015 motion picture Furious 7 (although it is not included in the film's soundtrack album).
