Blackwater Elite

Blackwater Elite is a professional basketball team owned by Ever Bilena Cosmetics, Inc. that is playing in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) beginning in the 2014–2015 season. The franchise began as one of the founding teams in the PBA Developmental League. It transferred to the PBA after being accepted as an expansion team. The team is named after the Ever Bilena's brand of men's fragrances.

History

PBA D-League

Blackwater was one of the founding teams in the PBA Developmental League (PBA D-League). It won one PBA D-League championship. The team's predecessor was the Blu Detergent team in the Philippine Basketball League (PBL), best known as the first Philippine basketball team of Asi Taulava.

PBA expansion franchise application

On April 10, 2014, Ever Bilena Cosmetics, Inc., along with Manila North Tollways Corporation (NLEX Road Warriors) and Columbian Autocar Corporation (Kia Sorento) were given approval by the PBA Board of Governors to become expansion teams in the PBA. Upon entry to the PBA, the three teams will select players from a dispersal draft in July consisting of unprotected current PBA players and free agents. They will also get to pick rookies in the 2014 PBA draft in August.

Anthony Parrino, better known by his stage name Elite, is an American hip hop record Producer, and recording artist best known for his work with Roc Nation artist J. Cole and the Ruff Ryders recording label in the early 2000s. Elite is from Byram, CT and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.

Career

In the summer of 2000, Elite started working as an intern for Ruff Ryders Entertainment and eventually caught the ear of rapper Drag-On placing his first beat on the Cradle 2 the Grave (soundtrack) in 2002. working as a in house Producer for Ruff Ryders, Elite went on to produce "Shoot Outs" for Jadakiss featuring Styles P from the Kiss of Death as well as the Why Remix featuring Anthony Hamilton, Styles P, Common, and Nas. In 2004 Elite graduated Cum Laude from SUNY Purchase music conservatory studying Studio Production. In 2006 Elite produced "Wrong or Right (I'm Tired)" for DMX from the album Year of the Dog... Again.

In 2009 Elite began work with longtime friend and Roc Nation recording artist J. Cole on his critically acclaimed mixtape The Warm Up. Elite produced "Heartache" and a good portion of the mixtape was recorded at his home studio in New York. In 2010 Elite released his first mixtape entitled "The Groundwork" which was a collection of all his production work up to that point. The mixtape featured an unreleased J. Cole song titled "playground". Elite also produced "See World" for J. Cole off his 3rd mixtape Friday Night Lights. Elite Co-Produced J. Strauss Group Ltd. (Hebrew: שטראוס‎) formerly known as Strauss-Elite (Hebrew: שטראוס עלית‎), is a food products manufacturer in Israel. It is the shared trademark of two companies – Strauss and Elite, that merged in 2004. Strauss focuses mostly on dairy products while Elite focuses on chocolate, coffee, and dry snack foods.

Strauss was founded in the 1930s as a commercial dairy by Richard and Hilda Strauss, German Jewish immigrants from Nieder-Olm who moved to Nahariya at the time of the British Mandate of Palestine. At first, the milking business wasn't successful enough so they started making cheese, which did become successful. In the 1950s, Strauss grew and began focusing on ice cream products, with about 50 employees in their Nahariya factory.

In 1969, after Groupe Danone purchased a part of the company's ownership, Strauss expanded from ice cream manufacture and began producing puddings and other individual packaged dairy desserts, the most popular of which was "Dani" and about 15 years later, "Milky". In 1975, Michael Strauss, son of the founders, became the CEO of the company.

Blackwater is a thriller novelette by Conn Iggulden. It was written as part of the Quick Reads initiative of the 2006 World Book Day.

Blackwater is described as a dark, psychological thriller, signalling a change in genre from an author used to writing historical fiction. On the forum of his website, Conn described the idea behind the book:

I was asked if I wanted to write a novelette of 15-20,000 words, adult themed. That sort of brief is the sort of thing I used to dream about, so I practically bit their hands off, of course. No writer turns down a brief like that, regardless of what else you have on. It'll be £2.99 and I hope to see it stuffed dog-eared into a few back pockets. "Blackwater" is the ninth and penultimate episode of the second season of HBO's medieval fantasy television series Game of Thrones. The episode is written by George R. R. Martin, the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire novels of which the series is an adaptation, and directed by Neil Marshall. It aired on May 27, 2012.

The entire episode is dedicated to the climactic Battle of the Blackwater, in which the Lannister army, commanded by acting Hand of the King Tyrion Lannister, defends the city of King's Landing as Stannis Baratheon's fleet stages an attack at Blackwater Bay. Unlike all previous episodes, "Blackwater" does not follow the parallel storylines of the characters outside of King's Landing.
