At 13, she moved out of her mother’s house and went to live with her aunt.[2] A resident of Portland, Oregon, she is a close friend of Scissor Sisters lead singer Ana Matronic, and considers her favorite song to be "Oh Bondage, Up Yours" by X-Ray Spex. She courted mild controversy in 2006 when, during an interview for NME magazine, she claimed to have eaten squirrels as a child, saying that "people in Arkansas just do – they'd think you were a freak if you ate squid there!"[3]
Ditto is known for her noticeable stage dances and her unique and revealing image. She classes herself as a punk, and thus does not wear deodorant or shave under her armpits, having once remarked that "I think punks usually smell".[4] She also formerly contributed an advice column on body image to The Guardian newspaper.[5]
In February 2009, she was featured in London as the cover model for the premiere of Love magazine with prominent public advertising.[6] On July 9, 2009, Beth's fashion collection for the UK retailer Evans was released for sale, both online, and in selected stores across the UK.[7]
Ditto, who is a lesbian, is well known for her outspoken support of both LGBT and feminist causes.[8]
Her most recent modeling work consisted of opening the[9] Jean Paul Gaultier spring 2011 fashion show during Paris Fashion Week on October 2, 2010.

Black moon is a reference to one of four astronomical events involving new or dark moons:
In some aspects of Paganism, particularly amongst Wiccans, the black moon is considered to be a special time when any rituals, spells, or other workings are considered to be more powerful and effective. Not all aspects hold to this belief and only consider it a normal occurrence of the dark moon. Others do not believe any rituals or workings should be conducted at these times.
Black Moon may refer to:
Black Moon is a 1934 American Pre-Code horror film directed by Roy William Neill, and starring Jack Holt, Fay Wray, and Dorothy Burgess. It is based on a short story by Clements Ripley that first appeared in Hearst's International-Cosmopolitan.
A copy is held at the Library of Congress.
A young girl, Juanita, finds her parents killed in a voodoo ritual on a distant tropical island. She escapes with her life, but when she reaches adulthood, she feels compelled to return to the island, bringing her daughter and nanny with her. Once there, she goes to stay with her uncle who lives on the island. She soon discovers that the natives, who had been using her for voodoo rituals when she was a child, now treat her as a voodoo goddess. In this role, she begins leading their rituals.
Any attempt to fight Juanita's influence or to remove her from her position is met with violent force. One person is found dead in a lava pit, while another is found hung. At one point, Juanita is so overcome by the voodoo curse that she offers her daughter up for sacrifice. Juanita's businessman husband, Stephen, follows her to the island and attempts to travel into the jungle to rescue her, but finds her taking part in a sacrifice of an innocent woman. Although he shoots the high priest of the tribe, Juanita completes the sacrifice herself.
I'll open up if you make an incision
I'll do right by you
All I ask is for your care and precision
And maybe I could pull through
You could've saved me if you'd only known better
But you so carlessly
Took me apart and put me back together
Open heart surgery
I was fine at first
Now I assume the worst
When I could overhear
The repercussions of a sad discussion
Another girl in tears
I could've saved here if I only knew better
That you so carelessly
Took her apart and put her back together
Open heart surgery
If girls like you and girls like me
Are really a dime a dozen
Why are we in such a high demand
My mother says it's just a shame you don't come around too often
Even she's begun to understand
Just let me know
What you were thinking
I find a way to get along somehow
Just let me go
Don't leave me hanging
Oh, please don't fail me now
Just take it slow
Don't let me suffer
I'm on the verge of an emergency
The final blow
Will make me tougher
Until then you will always be
A danger to me
We should've listened to our intuition
But we knew all to well
In addition to our suspicions
Only time could tell
With friends like you I get confused
Who needs enemies
We've been here too many times before
Open heart surgery
If girls like you and girls like me
Are really a dime a dozens
Why are we in such a high demand
My mother says it's just a shame you don't come around too often
Even she's begun to understand
Just let me know
What you were thinking
I find a way to get along somehow
Just let me go
Don't leave me hanging
Oh, please don't fail me now
Just take it slow
Don't let me suffer
I'm on the verge of an emergency
The final blow
Will make me tougher
Until then you will always be
A danger to me
A danger to me
