Dope may refer to:
"Dope" is a song recorded by American singer Lady Gaga for her third studio album, Artpop (2013). It was released on November 4, 2013, by Interscope Records as the second promotional single from the record, following "Venus". It was written by Gaga, Paul "DJ White Shadow" Blair, Dino Zisis, and Nick Monson and produced by Gaga and Rick Rubin. Following her hip surgery and cancellation of the Born This Way Ball tour, Gaga became addicted to drugs, which helped her get relief from the pain of surgery and also to cope with her sabbatical. "Dope" was written about this addiction and evolved from a song she had previously composed for her fans, about her confessions. It was added to Artpop because Gaga felt the album needed something more autobiographical.
The song received positive reviews, with critics complimenting its simple production, the songwriting and Gaga's vocals. An electronic rock lament, in the vein of Irish folk ballad rue, "Dope" is a bittersweet song centered on a dark theme. It has a minimal production and is only composed off Gaga's vocals sung in an intoxicated slur. Lyrically it talks about substance abuse and the yearning for a long lost love. Previous to the release Gaga uploaded an image of herself on Instagram, wearing a snapback featuring the word DOPE. She also posted the song's lyrics there, triggering the social media website's concern. The artwork featured Gaga with a big blazer, her face covered with a hat and a grill that made her teeth appear larger. Media outlets found the picture to be "odd" and compared it to different horror films.
Dope is an American heavy metal band from Villa Park, Illinois, formed in 1997 in Chicago.
To date, the band has released five full-length studio albums. Their most recent, No Regrets, was released on March 10, 2009.
The band was founded by song writer and lead singer Edsel Dope in 1997. As a child, Edsel and his brother, Simon Dope, were separated when their parents divorced. When the two were adults, they reunited and Simon joined Edsel's band, playing keyboards. The pair then recruited Tripp Eisen as guitarist, Preston Nash as drummer, and Acey Slade as bassist.
Unlike many of the popular bands from the 1990s, Dope derived their sound from influences taken from heavy metal bands and fused that with the sound of industrial rock acts who had made waves earlier in the decade, such as Ministry and Skinny Puppy.
In their earliest days, the band sold drugs to survive and purchase instruments. Furthermore, the name "Dope" refers to drugs and drug culture, as shown by their early T-shirt designs, which prominently displayed hypodermic needles.
Bitch is an independent, quarterly magazine published in Portland, Oregon. Its tagline is "a feminist response to pop culture".Bitch is published by the multimedia non-profit organization Bitch Media. The magazine includes analysis of current political events, social and cultural trends, television shows, movies, books, music, advertising, and artwork from a feminist perspective. It has about 80,000 readers.
The first issue of Bitch was a ten-page feature. It was published in January 1996 in Oakland, California. The founding editors, Lisa Jervis and Andi Zeisler, along with founding art director Benjamin Shaykin, wanted to create a public forum in which to air thoughts and theories on women, gender, and feminist issues, interpreted through the lens of the media and popular culture. The first issue of Bitch was a zine, and a mere 300 copies were distributed from the trunk of a station wagon.
In 2001, a loan from San Francisco's Independent Press Association allowed Jervis and Zeisler to quit their day jobs and work on Bitch full-time and the magazine officially became a non-profit.
"Bitch", also known by its censored title, "Nothing In Between", is a Grammy nominated song co-written with Shelly Peiken and recorded by American artist Meredith Brooks. It was released in May 1997 as the lead single from her debut album Blurring the Edges. "Bitch" contains an un-credited drum sample of "Impeach The President" by The Honey Drippers, written by Roy Charles Hammond.
The song steadily rose on the Billboard charts, eventually peaking at number two for four weeks, only behind "I'll Be Missing You" by Puff Daddy and Faith Evans featuring 112. It debuted and peaked at number six on the UK Singles Chart on 27 July 1997 and stayed in the top ten for four weeks. The song was also a big hit in Oceania, where it reached number two in Australia and four in New Zealand. It ranked at number 79 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the '90s.
"Bitch" was also used in the 2000 Nancy Meyers film What Women Want, starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt. The scene is arguably the most memorable part of the film, as Mel Gibson is seen dressing in womans' tights and wearing make-up singing to the chorus of the song. From this point in the film the character is able to "hear" what woman want.
"Bitch" (censored to "B*tch" and "Trick") is a single by American rapper E-40 off his twelfth studio album Revenue Retrievin': Day Shift. The song features fellow West Coast American rapper and former label mate Too Short. The single is the only charting single of the Revenue Retrievin' series. The song receives airplay in the mix on radio stations such as Power 106 in Los Angeles. A popular remix was made also featuring 50 Cent who is featured on the single cover.
In Too Short's verse he points out what makes a man a "B I C T H" and E-40 discusses what makes a female a "bitch."
The music video was released via E-40's official YouTube account on March 11, 2010. In the video Too $hort and E-40 travel through green screen houses and malls, deconstructing the concept of being a "bitch."
The official remix features American rapper 50 Cent and was officially released via his YouTube channel.
The song peaked at #80 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and on the Hot Rap Songs at #24.

Come follow me and take my hand now
… body in, in a state of mind
But beat is taking over my …
And this is my favorite part, part, part
I need it here, and hear it louder now
Tell the dj turn it up
This can be addictive I know, I don’t want it to stop, stop
Cause I’m not ready to go, go
Now let this beat drop
Tonight it’s you and me, … disagree
This ain’t all in my mind…
Breathing slowly, need you to pull me closely
We’ll party till morning time
I need you to push me up higher
Push me up higher, turn me up louder
Turn me up, turn me up
Push me up higher
Push me up higher, turn me up louder
Turn me up, turn me up
I don’t wanna stop, stop, don’t wanna stop
I got a smile on my face now, cause the dj’s playing what I wanna hear now
… he better not stop, oh
Baby won’t you come along, and take my hand
Spin me around, take me to the ground, ground, oh ground
And tell me how the sounds, sounds, sounds, oh
Tonight it’s you and me, … disagree
This ain’t all in my mind…
Breathing slowly, need you to pull me closely
We’ll party till morning time
I need you to push me up higher
Push me up higher, turn me up louder
Turn me up, turn me up
Push me up higher
Push me up higher, turn me up louder
Turn me up, turn me up
Can you feel the beat, it’s making me loosing control
Going out my mind babe, you know
I don’t wanna leave the dance floor, whoa, oh
Tonight it’s you and me, … disagree
This ain’t all in my mind…
Breathing slowly, need you to pull me closely
We’ll party till morning time
I need you to push me up higher
Push me up higher, turn me up louder
Turn me up, turn me up
Push me up higher
Push me up higher, turn me up louder
