Bip or BIP may refer to:
Bip (Hebrew: ביפ, pronounced beep) is a comedy web portal, a production unit and night time TV strip on Israel's Channel 2, owned by Keshet. Founded in 2000 and it was included in the channel pack of the Israeli digital system HOT before becoming independent.
In 2009, the channel broadcast Israeli based television shows, and foreign ones such as South Park, Seinfeld, Friends and NewsRadio, but also included Israeli based original television shows, including "BeHafra'a" ("Disturbance"), an Israeli version of "Distraction" hosted by Ido Rosenblum, "Mahadura Mugbelet" ("Limited Edition"), a satire show, "Project Bip," a stand-up comedy competition, "Crime Animals," crime comedy, and "Quicky," a sitcom . Most of its shows were limited for the age 14 and older. The channel also broadcast several non-comedy foreign shows, such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Trek and more.
On December 31, 2010, Bip ended its broadcasts on HOT and opened as bip.co.il portal and weekend TV nightly comedy strip.
Transantiago is a public transport system that serves Santiago, the capital of Chile. It is considered the most ambitious transport reform undertaken by a developing country according to the World Resources Institute.
The system, largely influenced by Bogotá, Colombia's TransMilenio and Curitiba, Brazil's RIT, was introduced on February 10, 2007. It standardized bus routes and eliminated redundancy of same; redundancies were commonplace in the old system, which was run by thousands of independent bus operators. The system combines local (feeder) bus lines, main bus lines and the Metro (subway) network. It includes an integrated fare system, which allows passengers to make bus-to-bus or bus-to-metro transfers for the price of one ticket, using a single contactless smart card.
Transantiago's implementation was problematic, as the decreased bus fleet and the newer routes have proved insufficient to properly serve a population inadequately informed of pending changes. The major complaints are the lack of buses and their inconsistent frequencies, missing or poor infrastructure (such as segregated corridors, prepaid areas and bus stops), the network's coverage, and the number of transfers needed for longer trips. As a result, users have overcrowded the Metro, which is generally held to be fast and dependable.
Romulus is the debut full-length album by Canadian death metal band Ex Deo. The album was released on June 19, 2009 through Nuclear Blast Records. The album was recorded with producer and Kataklysm guitarist Jean-Francois Dagenais.
The album title refers to Romulus, one of the traditional founders and, according to the tradition recorded as history, the first king of Rome.
On December 5, 2008, the band announced they signed to Nuclear Blast Records for a record deal. This was the beginning of the creation of the forthcoming album. Shortly after, on December 31, 2008 the band announced they would air the first track of the upcoming album on January 11, 2009. The first track they aired was a demo version of Cry Havoc, followed by enthusiastic feedback from their fans on their MySpace page.
Since February 20 the band started a weekly studio blog to keep their fans in the loop while they were working on the album. The blogs also included a special section called Do you know Rome?, which contained a weekly historical fact about the Roman Empire. In total there were about 5 fact posted on their MySpace page. By the time they posted their second studio update the band already recorded most of the music and even completed the song Storm the Gates of Alesia. During the time they posted their third studio update Iacono announced he completed the vocals for the album.
Romulus globosus is a species of beetle in the family Cerambycidae, the only species in the genus Romulus.
The Romulus b-rep solid modeler (or simply Romulus) was released in 1982 by Ian Braid, Charles Lang and the Shape Data team in Cambridge, England. It was the first commercial solid modeling kernel designed for straightforward integration into CAD software. Romulus incorporated the CAM-I AIS (Computer Aided Manufacturers International's Application Interface Specification) and was the only solid modeler (other than its successors Parasolid and ACIS) ever to offer a third-party standard API to facilitate high-level integration into a host CAD software program. Romulus was quickly licensed by Siemens, HP and several other CAD software vendors.
