Divlje jagode

Divlje Jagode (trans. "Wild Strawberries") is an ex-Yugoslav and Bosnian heavy metal band formed in 1977. The band is widely considered to be regional pioneers of the heavy metal genre and one of the most popular enduring icons of rock music in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. In almost 40 years since its founding, the band has released 12 studio albums, the latest being 2013 release Biodinamička ljubav, several singles and compilation albums.

Biography

1970s

Divlje Jagode were formed in 1977 in Bihać by guitarist Zele Lipovača (a former Biseri, Selekcija and Zenit member). The first Divlje Jagode lineup featured vocalist Ante Janković, bass guitarist Nihad Jusufhodžić (a former Zenit member), keyboardist Mustafa "Muc" Ismailovski (a former Grešnici member) and drummer Adonis Dokuzović (a former Novi Akordi member). The band achieved high popularity with their first singles: hard rock ballads "Jedina moja" and "Patkica" and a cover of Bosnian folk song "Moj dilbere". In 1978 they released their debut self-titled album Divlje Jagode, which featured a number of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath inspired songs, a new version of "Jedina moja" and ballad "Krivo je more" among others. After the album was released the band made a break because part of the band's members' army obligations. Ismailovski joined Srebrna Krila, and Lipovača, alongside Marina Tucaković became spiritus movens of a disco band Mirzino Jato.

Bihać

Bihać (Cyrillic: Бихаћ; pronounced [bǐxaːt͡ɕ]) is a city on the River Una in northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the Bosanska Krajina region. It has 61,186 inhabitants. Bihać is located in the Una-Sana Canton (Canton I) of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

History

The area of Bihać was populated by the tribe of Iapydes (Japodes) as early as the 8th century B.C. The Iapydes left many remains that testify about their presence in this area.

During the 2nd century B.C. this area was populated by Romans. It's in this period that the river Una was given its name by a Roman soldier (Latin: una- one, unique). The only important remains left behind the Romans are roads. In the 6th century this area is populated by Slavs, an Indo-European group of people.

The name of Bihać was first mentioned as early as 1260 as property of a church in Topusko, Croatia in a document by the Hungarian-Croatian king Béla IV, and became a free city in 1262. Bihać was the temporary capital of the Croatian Kingdom. It lost its civic status in the 14th century following dynastic struggles in the kingdom, and became a property of the Frankopan nobles. In the 16th century it passed under direct royal rule, when battles with the Ottoman Empire had begun. The town of Bihać, in the region of the same name, withstood the Ottoman attacks until it fell with the Bosnia sanjak (in 1592).

Biha is an administrative unit, known as Union council, of Swat District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. District Swat has 9 Tehsils i.e. Khwazakhela, Kabal, Madyan, Barikot, Mingora, and Kalam. Each Tehsill comprises certain numbers of union councils. There are 65 union councils in district Swat, 56 rural and 09 urban.

The British Ice Hockey Association (BIHA) was founded in 1913 and was the governing body of ice hockey in the United Kingdom during the 1913–14 season and between 1923 and 1999 when it was replaced by Ice Hockey UK.

The founding ice hockey clubs were Cambridge University, Manchester, Oxford Canadians, Princes and Royal Engineers. The first President of BIHA was Major B M "Peter" Patton.
