Bida radiosella

Bida radiosella is a moth in the Xyloryctidae family, and the only species in the genus Bida. It was described by Walker in 1863 and is found in Australia, where it has been recorded from New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.

The wingspan is 23–29 mm. The forewings are white with all veins marked with fine fuscous lines mixed posteriorly with blackish. There are three pale fuscous longitudinal streaks, the first from the base beneath the costa to the costa beyond the middle, extending along it to near the apex, the second median, from the base to the apex, united with the first at the base, finely edged with dark fuscous beneath on the basal third, and above from one-third to three-fifths, the third is less marked, subdorsal and runs from near the base to near the tornus. There are indications of faint pale fuscous streaks, between the veins towards the tornus. The hindwings are whitish-grey.

Bida (North Africa)

Bida is a former Ancient city and bishopric in Roman Africa, now a Latin Catholic titular see.

Its presumed location are the ruins at present Djemaa-Sahridj in modern Algeria.

History

The city was important enough in the Roman province of Numidia to become a suffragan bishopric of its capital's Metropolitan Archbishop, but was to fade.

Titular see

The diocese was nominally restored as a Latin Catholic titular bishopric in the 17th century as Bitha or Bita, renamed Bida in 1923-25.

It has had the following incumbents, all of the lowest (episcopal) rank :

  • Guillaume Mahot, Paris Foreign Missions Society M.E.P. (1680.01.29 – 1684.06.04)
  • Jean-Paul-Hilaire-Michel Courvezy, M.E.P. (1832.04.05 – 1857.05.01)
  • Franz Rudolf Bornewasser (1921.04.23 – 1922.03.12) (later Archbishop)
  • Frederick Eis (1922.07.08 – 1926.05.05)
  • Carlos Labbé Márquez (1926.08.02 – 1929.12.20)
  • James Augustine McFadden (1932.05.12 – 1943.06.02)
  • Alexandre-Joseph-Charles Derouineau (德為能), M.E.P. (1943.12.08 – 1946.04.11) (later Archbishop)

    Going off the deep end
Oh honey won't you be my friend
    Liberty's a friend of mine
Beats me to it all the time
    Yeah all
Going off at the deep end
See the mercury with you go in
Missed the days of miracle (mister)
    Hanging from a windowsill
    You better believe yourself
    Crying in the Everglades
    Red yellow orange green
Chump won't you go before you're seen
    What did you give
