Bhai Bhai

Bhai Bhai (Odia: ଭାଇ ଭାଇ) is a 1956 Ollywood / Oriya film directed by Nitai Palit. The film was produced under the banner of Dalit Jatisangha Chitram, and received financial assistance from the Government of Orissa, India. It portrays the problems of untouchability and caste system prevailing at that time in rural India.

Synopsis

In a village there are two sections of people leaving nearby. The upper cast people belongs to Pradhan's and the lower caste belongs to Bauri's. Pradhan community are influential and landlords. The Bauri community are cultivation labourers, they work in the lands of Pradhan's. Bauris are treated as untouchable. Suduria is head of the village and is of upper cast. He is board minded and do not believe in untouchability. He has a soft corner for one Nidhi, who belongs to Bauri caste. Nidhi calls Suduria affectionately as brother. Bana, who is from Pradhan community does not accept the daring of lower community to maintain relationship with the upper caste. He calls a meeting in the village asks for punishment to Nidhi for maintaining relationship with upper caste. The village people decides to punish Nidhi for his crime and bars him from working in the land and taking water from pond. Though Suduria is against the decision, but remain silent against the voice of Pradhan community. The lower caste Bauri community feel harassed against the decision and decide not to work in the field of Pradhan community. Without labourers the cultivation work has get stopped and the land become barren. At last Pradhan community realize their fault and accept the relationship of Suduria and Nidhi.

Bhai-Bhai

Bhai-Bhai (Brothers) is a 1970 Bollywood suspense drama film directed by Raja Nawathe. It had music by Shankar Jaikishen with lyrics by Hasrat Jaipuri. The film stars Sunil Dutt, Asha Parekh, Mumtaz, Mehmood and Pran.

The story revolves around Sunil Dutt, playing the role of a writer, whose character from his story seemingly comes to life killing people. This puts him under suspicion from the police. The film had Sunil Dutt in a double role.

Bhai Bhai (Brothers) is a 1956 Hindi social family drama directed by M. V. Raman for A. V. M. Productions. It had screenplay by Jawar N. Sitaraman with Hindi screen adaptation of "Rathapasam" by C.V. Sridhar. The music director was Madan Mohan with dialogues and lyrics written by Rajendra Krishan. One of the popular songs from the film was "Ae Dil Mujhe Bata De" (Oh Heart Tell Me) sung by Geeta Dutt, "in an unabrasive fast tempo". The song became one of Madan Mohan's earliest hits, and the music of the film in journalist-author Bharatan's words, went on to "conquer the box-office".

The film starred real-life brothers Ashok Kumar, who played the lead role, and Kishore Kumar as the two brothers, with the film being referred to as one of Kishore Kumar's prominent film. The cast included Nirupa Roy, who played the role of Ashok Kumar's "homely" wife, while Shyama played the "seductress". The film co-starred Nimmi, Om Prakash, David, Daisy Irani, and Shivraj.

The story is of two brothers, with the younger brother running away from home at an early age. The older brother gets entangled with another woman leaving his wife and child at home. This situation leads to the meeting of the brothers, with the older one mending his errant ways.
