Toy

A toy is an item that can be used for play. Toys are generally played with by children and pets. Playing with toys is an enjoyable means of training young children for life in society. Different materials are used to make toys enjoyable to all ages. Many items are designed to serve as toys, but goods produced for other purposes can also be used. For instance, a small child may pick up a household item and "fly" it through the air as to pretend that it is an airplane. Another consideration is interactive digital entertainment. Some toys are produced primarily as collector's items and are intended for display only.

The origin of toys is prehistoric; dolls representing infants, animals, and soldiers, as well as representations of tools used by adults are readily found at archaeological sites. The origin of the word "toy" is unknown, but it is believed that it was first used in the 14th century. Toys are mainly made for children.

Playing with toys is important when it comes to growing up and learning about the world around us. Younger children use toys to discover their identity, help their bodies grow strong, learn cause and effect, explore relationships, and practice skills they will need as adults. Adults use toys to form and strengthen social bonds, teach, remember and reinforce lessons from their youth, discover their identity, exercise their minds and bodies, explore relationships, practice skills, and decorate their living spaces.

Toy dog

Toy dog traditionally refers to a very small dog or a grouping of small and very small breeds of dog. A toy dog may be of any of various dog types. Types of dogs referred to as toy dogs may include Spaniels, Pinschers and Terriers that have been bred down in size. Not all toy dogs are lapdogs, although that is an important and ancient type of toy dog. The very smallest toy dogs are sometimes called teacup size, although no major dog registry recognizes that term.

Small dogs

Dogs referred to as toy or teacup dogs, are dogs found in the Toy Group of breed registries, may be of the very ancient lapdog type, or they may be small versions of hunting dogs or working dogs, bred down in size for a particular kind of work or to create a pet of convenient size. In the past, very small dogs not used for hunting were kept as symbols of affluence, as watchdogs, and for the health function of attracting fleas away from their owners.

Breeds

Most major dog clubs in the English-speaking world have a toy group, under one exact name or another, in which they place breeds of dog that the kennel club categorises as toy, based on size and tradition. The Kennel Club (UK), the Canadian Kennel Club, the American Kennel Club, the Australian National Kennel Council, and the New Zealand Kennel Club all have a group named "Toy", all though they may not all categorise the same breeds in this category. The United States has a second major kennel club, the United Kennel Club (UKC, originally formed for hunting and working breeds, though general today), and it does not recognize such a group; instead, small dogs are placed with larger dogs of their type, or into a UKC's "Companion Dog" group.As of September 2008, the American Kennel Club began debating whether or not to change the name of their "Toy" group to "Companion", in order to emphasise that dogs are not playthings, but the name change was resisted by traditionalists.

Believer (American Authors song)

"Believer" is the debut single by American indie rock band American Authors. The song was written by band members Zac Barnett, Dave Rublin, Matt Sanchez, and James Adam Shelley, along with producers Aaron Accetta and Shep Goodman. "Believer" first appeared on their 2013 American Authors EP and was released as the band's debut single on March 19, 2012; it was later included on their debut studio album, Oh, What a Life (2014).

Release

"Believer" initially garnered airplay on United States modern rock radio in early 2013, and was later re-released to modern rock, triple A, hot adult contemporary and mainstream radio following the success of the band's second single "Best Day of My Life". A remix of the song by Dutch DJ Tiësto was issued as a digital single on July 22, 2014. There is an accompanying music video that shows two boys working together to build a time machine

Friday Night at St. Andrews

Friday Night at St. Andrews (originally named Live from St. Andrews) is the third studio album by American rapper and member of D12, Bizarre. Guests include his D12 bandmate Kuniva, King Gordy, Seven the General and Royce da 5'9", non-Detroit standouts include Redman, Nate Walka, Tech N9ne, Yelawolf and Bone Crusher The first single released from the album was "Believer", which features Tech N9ne and Nate Walka. The second single released from the album was "Rap's Finest", which features Kuniva, Seven the General, Royce da 5'9" and Redman. Both singles have videos released for them.

Background

Bizarre stated that his third album release would not be like his two previous albums, as it would focus less on humour and more on lyrical ability. He decided this because many people looked at Bizarre as not being a serious emcee and the fact that D12 continued to make comical music after the death of group member, Proof. Bizarre stated that production for the album would be done by lesser known, Detroit-based producers.

Believer (band)

Believer is an American technical thrash metal band from the late 1980s and early 1990s, that plays a hybrid of thrash and progressive metal. Believer is known for its innovative use of symphonic elements in thrash metal, featuring some of the earliest examples of symphonic metal. Their lyrics deal with topics of philosophy, theology and social issues.

The two primary members of the band are vocalist/guitarist Kurt Bachman and drummer Joey Daub, who were joined by several others after their 1989 debut album, Extraction from Mortality. The band was jointly signed to Roadrunner Records, and the Christian label R.E.X. Music. According to Allmusic, several mainstream magazines praised the second album Sanity Obscure. They toured US and Europe with Bolt Thrower the following year. Believer disbanded in 1994; however, in March 2005, Daub announced that he and Bachman reformed the band.

On November 18, 2008, Blabbermouth.net announced Believer's signing with Metal Blade Records. The fourth album titled Gabriel was released on March 17, 2009. An unmastered version of the song "Medwton" premiered on Bam Margera's Radio Bam show on November 17, with the singles "Focused Lethality" and "Stoned" released later. The album features musicians Rocky Gray of Living Sacrifice and Deron Miller of CKY performing guest guitar solos and Howard Jones (Killswitch Engage) contributing guest vocals.
