"Beautiful" is a song by contemporary Christian music band MercyMe. Written and composed by MercyMe, Dan Muckala, and Brown Bannister, the song was written for the daughters of the band's members. The song's lyrics revolve around self-worth and the love of God. "Beautiful" was released on September 17, 2010 as the second single from MercyMe's 2010 album The Generous Mr. Lovewell.

"Beautiful" received generally mixed to positive reviews from critics and attained success on Christian radio, peaking at the top spot on Billboard magazine's Christian Songs, Christian AC Indicator, Christian AC Monitored, and Soft AC/Inspo charts. "Beautiful" ranked at number 7 on the 2011 year-end Christian Songs chart, as well as at number 10 on the 2011 year-end Hot Christian AC chart.

Background and composition

"Beautiful" was written and composed by the members of MercyMe, Dan Muckala, and Brown Bannister. "Beautiful" was written for the daughters of MercyMe's band members. Lead singer Bart Millard, in an interview with Kevin Davis of New Release Tuesday, stated that "We [MercyMe] wrote the song with our daughters in mind. The band has 15 kids among all of us... Satan targets our girls from a materialistic way, telling them how to act and how to look, what to eat and not to eat", also commenting that "I try to tell my kids all the time that they are perfect and I know my daughters need to get their confidence in themselves from me. The way they want to be treated by men needs to come from me".

Beautiful (Vivian Green album)

Beautiful is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Vivian Green, released by E1 Music on April 6, 2010 in the United States. The album is heavily produced by Grammy- nominated long-time friend and collaborator Anthony Bell with an addition production cut from Jason Farmer. Beautiful is the album's leading single and was released February 23, 2010. The song entitled "Jordan's Song" is also a dedication to her son.

Onyx is a rock opera and the fourth studio album by Pop Evil. It was released on May 14, 2013. The first single, "Trenches", was released February 28, 2013. The album was available for streaming a day before its official release date. It was produced by Johnny K, mixed by Jay Ruston, and mastered by Paul Logus. Additional vocal production was performed by Dave Bassett. Additional programming was done by Bassett and Matt Doughtery.

The album debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 39, No. 9 on the Independent Albums chart, with 10,000 copies sold in its first week. It has sold 122,000 copies in the United States as of July 2015.

Lucid is a dataflow programming language. It is designed to experiment with non-von Neumann programming models. It was designed by Bill Wadge and Ed Ashcroft and described in the book Lucid, the Dataflow Programming Language.

Model

Lucid uses a demand-driven model for data computation. Each statement can be understood as an equation defining a network of processors and communication lines between them through which data flows. Each variable is an infinite stream of values and every function is a filter or a transformer. Iteration is simulated by 'current' values and 'fby' (read as 'followed by') operator allowing composition of streams.

Lucid is based on an algebra of histories, a history being an infinite sequence of data items. Operationally, a history can be thought of as a record of the changing values of a variable, history operations such as first and next can be understood in ways suggested by their names. Lucid was originally conceived as a kind of very disciplined, mathematically pure, single-assignment language, in which verification would be very much simplified. However, the dataflow interpretation has been a very important influence on the direction in which Lucid has evolved.

Lucid is the fifth studio album by American R&B singer Lyfe Jennings. The album was released on October 8, 2013, by Mass Appeal Entertainment. On May 8, 2013, the album's first single "Boomerang" was released. On July 25, 2013, the music video was released for "Boomerang".

Critical response

Lucid was met with a generally positive reviews from music critics. Andy Kellman of AllMusic gave the album three out of four stars, saying "Jennings draws character sketches, spins cautionary tales—as someone still growing, learning from his mistakes—and largely sticks to the type of mature R&B that his listeners don't get from anyone else. He briefly breaks from the norm with "Rock," a classy but contemporary steppers groove that's one of his best songs. Despite a mostly new cast of collaborators—including TGT associate Brandon Hodge and producer/songwriter Lashaunda "Babygirl" Carr—Lucid is a natural progression for a veteran artist who seems to have plenty left to express."
