George Harrison
George Harrison,MBE (25 February 1943 – 29 November 2001) was an English guitarist, singer, songwriter, and music and film producer who achieved international fame as the lead guitarist of the Beatles. Often referred to as "the quiet Beatle", Harrison embraced Indian mysticism and helped broaden the horizons of his fellow Beatles as well as their Western audience by incorporating Indian instrumentation in their music. Although the majority of the Beatles' songs were written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, most Beatles albums from 1965 onwards contained at least two Harrison compositions. His songs for the group included "Taxman", "Within You Without You", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Here Comes the Sun" and "Something", the last of which became the Beatles' second-most covered song.
Harrison's earliest musical influences included George Formby and Django Reinhardt; Carl Perkins, Chet Atkins and Chuck Berry were subsequent influences. By 1965 he had begun to lead the Beatles into folk rock through his interest in the Byrds and Bob Dylan, and towards Indian classical music through his use of the sitar on "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)". Having initiated the band's embracing of Transcendental Meditation in 1967, he subsequently developed an association with the Hare Krishna movement. After the band's break-up in 1970, Harrison released the triple album All Things Must Pass, a critically acclaimed work that produced his most successful hit single, "My Sweet Lord", and introduced his signature sound as a solo artist, the slide guitar. He also organised the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh with Indian musician Ravi Shankar, a precursor for later benefit concerts such as Live Aid. In his role as a music and film producer, Harrison produced acts signed to the Beatles' Apple record label before founding Dark Horse Records in 1974 and co-founding HandMade Films in 1978.
George Harrison (Glamorgan cricketer)
George Benjamin Harrison (14 September 1895–date of death unknown) was an English cricketer. Harrison was a left-handed batsman. He was born at Dalton, near Skelmersdale, Lancashire.
Harrison made his first-class debut for Glamorgan in 1924 against Gloucestershire. From 1924 to 1925, he represented the county in 9 first-class matches, with his final appearance coming against Northamptonshire. In his 9 first-class matches he scored 109 runs at a batting average of 6.41, with a high score of 34. In the field he took 3 catches.

Beautiful Girl (George Harrison song)
"Beautiful Girl" is a song by English musician George Harrison, released on his 1976 album Thirty Three & 1/3. Harrison began writing the song in 1969 and considered recording it for his 1970 triple album All Things Must Pass. In its finished, 1976 form, the lyrics of "Beautiful Girl" were inspired by Harrison's second wife, Olivia Arias.
The recording features musical contributions from Billy Preston, Gary Wright and Willie Weeks. Some music critics have noted aspects of the Beatles' mid-'60s sound in "Beautiful Girl"; like much of Thirty Three & 1/3, the song is highly regarded for its melodic qualities. Author Nicholas Schaffner described the track as "a great lost Rubber Soul classic".
Background and composition
In his 1980 autobiography, I, Me, Mine, Harrison states that he began writing "Beautiful Girl" during sessions for singer Doris Troy's eponymous solo album on Apple Records, recording for which commenced in October 1969. Harrison co-produced the album with Troy, and one of the musicians who contributed to the sessions was Stephen Stills, whose "very good" 12-string acoustic guitar Harrison borrowed one evening, during which he came up with the tune to "Beautiful Girl". Harrison's inspiration for the song's lyrics was his wife, Pattie Boyd, but he was unable to write more than a single verse, which begins:

Chord Paul Overstreet (born February 17, 1989) is an American actor, singer and musician, known for his role as Sam Evans on the television series Glee.
Early years
Overstreet was born in Nashville, Tennessee, to hairdresser Julie Miller and country music singer-songwriter Paul Overstreet. He has an older brother, Nash Overstreet, who plays guitar in the band Hot Chelle Rae, an older sister, Summer, and three younger sisters, Harmony, Skye and Charity. He is of German, Irish, English, and "a little bit of Native American" descent. He was named after the musical term of the same name. Overstreet was raised on a farm outside of Nashville. Encouraged by his parents to pursue music, he started playing the mandolin at an early age, and moved on to the drums, flute, piano, and guitar. He is also a songwriter. In his teenage years, Overstreet modeled for advertisements for Hollister, Famous Footwear and Gap.
Acting career
Overstreet began to pursue his passion of performing after his high school graduation in 2007. After two unsuccessful years, Overstreet started his acting career on the web series Private, as Josh Hollis. He was also featured in an episode of iCarly titled "iSpeed Date" and starred in the unaired pilot of No Ordinary Family. His first film role was that of Teenage Boy in the 2009 thriller The Hole, and he starred in the 2011 film A Warrior's Heart as Dupree, alongside Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz.
Beautiful Girl (film)
Beautiful Girl is a 2003 television movie starring Marissa Jaret Winokur. The film was directed by Douglas Barr for the ABC Family network.
Plot
Marissa Jaret Winokur plays Becca Wasserman, a young woman recently engaged to a young man, Adam Lopez (Mark Consuelos). Hoping to improve their modest honeymoon plans, Becca seeks the vacation prize offered in a local beauty pageant. Charming and buoyant, Becca enters herself confidently, over the objections of her embarrassed mother (Fran Drescher) who believes that her daughter's plus-size form will be ridiculed. Becca rejects the criticism and becomes determined to win.
Overcoming all expectations, Becca becomes Miss Squirrel Hill. The flush of success drives her to compete in other, larger pageants in the city, and she announces ambitious plans for the future. Her fiancé is supportive at first, but he becomes quickly dismayed by her aggressive efforts to win. As Becca struggles to advance in the pageant circuit, she appears to change for the worse in many ways, before finally recapturing her original good nature and joie de vivre.
George Harrison (Lord Provost)
Sir George Harrison (1811 – 23 December 1885) was Lord Provost of Edinburgh and an independent Liberal politician.
Harrison was a merchant of Edinburgh. He was Lord Provost of the city for 1882 to 1885 and was responsible for the acquisition of Blackford Hill by the Corporation of Edinburgh. He was also particularly interested in education. His contributions to social life included providing the land for the Whitehouse and Grange Bowling club in 1872 and acting as president of the Edinburgh Chess Club from 1884 to 1885.
In 1885 Harrison was elected Member of Parliament for Edinburgh South. However he died at the age of 74 within 5 days of the election's closure (18 December), and never took his seat.
He is buried in Warriston Cemetery just to the south-east of the vaults.
In 1888 the Harrison Arch was built "to commemorate the work and character of Sir George Harrison". It is a red sandstone triumphal arch. Two streets in Edinburgh — Harrison Road, and Harrison Gardens — were also named after him.
