Bayfront Convention Center

The Bayfront Convention Center is a convention center complex located in Erie, Pennsylvania. The center, which has views of Presque Isle Bay from three sides, includes a 28,800-square-foot (2,680 m²) Great Hall with a seating capacity of 4,500, and a 13,500-square-foot (1,250 m²) Grand Ballroom. The attached hotel is a Sheraton.

The center held an open house beginning on August 3, 2007. Local promotion continued with public tours during the annual Celebrate Erie festival 17–19 August 2007. The attached hotel opened on April 10, 2008.

Construction manager, Barton Malow completed the construction of this project which won the 2008 Build America Award from the Associated General Contractors of America.

The Convention Center is also the venue for commencement ceremonies for Mercyhurst University

Convention center

A convention center (American English; conference centre outside the USA) is a large building that is designed to hold a convention, where individuals and groups gather to promote and share common interests. Convention centers typically offer sufficient floor area to accommodate several thousand attendees. Very large venues, suitable for major trade shows, are sometimes known as exhibition centres. Convention centers typically have at least one auditorium and may also contain concert halls, lecture halls, meeting rooms, and conference rooms. Some large resort area hotels include a convention center.

Convention Center station (Jacksonville Skyway)

Convention Center is a station of Jacksonville Skyway monorail system in Jacksonville, Florida. It is located on Bay Street just west of Jefferson Street in the LaVilla neighborhood of Downtown Jacksonville. It is adjacent to the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center.

History

The station was one of the three original Jacksonville Skyway stops that opened with the initial 0.7-mile (1.1 km) Phase I-A segment in June 1989. It was originally called "Terminal Station" in reference to the Jacksonville Terminal, a former train station that was converted into the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center in 1986. Built to provide public transit access to the Convention Center, it was (and remains) the western terminus of line, which ran east to Jefferson station and Central station. All three stations were renovated in 1997, when the Skyway transitioned from Matra to Bombardier Transportation technology.

The station has an adjacent park and ride lot. The City of Jacksonville plans to turn the site into an intermodal transit station with the return of rail service to the Jacksonville Terminal.

Convention Center (DART station)

Dallas Convention Center is a DART Light Rail station located in the Convention Center District of downtown Dallas, Texas (USA) underneath the Dallas Convention Center at Memorial Drive and Lamar Street. It opened on June 14, 1996, and is a station on the Red and Blue lines, serving the Dallas Convention Center, the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, Dallas City Hall and Pioneer Park.
