Batman – The Dark Knight is a steel floorless roller coaster located at Six Flags New England. Opened on April 20, 2002, the ride has a purple and blue track with black supports. It was the eighth coaster built at the park, and the only roller coaster in New England built by Bolliger & Mabillard.[1]

The layout of the ride is compact but packed with five inversions. After the signature Bolliger & Mabillard predrop, the track twists 180 degrees to complete a swooping left-turn drop before sending riders into a large vertical loop at 55 miles per hour (89 km/h). The loop is followed by a dive loop to the right. The train passes the station before undergoing a left 180 degree banked turn that passes through the first loop. The turn is followed by an on-ride photo, then a zero-g-roll that makes riders momentarily feel no gravitational pull. The final two elements are interlocking corkscrews that send riders into the brake run.[1] Since the ride is very short (in comparison to other B&Ms), but still has 5 inversions, there is very little "break time" between inversions, resulting in a relatively intense B&M floorless ride.
Batman – The Dark Knight was renamed in 2008 to Batman: The Ride due to the proposed new roller coaster The Dark Knight, scheduled to open at Six Flags New England[2] along with two others, at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey and Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois. The new Six Flags New England coaster was canceled shortly after construction began due to permitting issues. The name was switched back to the original following the cancellation of The Dark Knight Coaster, which took place only a few months after its groundbreaking.

Batman: The Ride is a steel inverted roller coaster found in Six Flags theme parks. Built by consulting engineers Bolliger & Mabillard, it rises to a height of between 100 and 105 feet (30 and 32 m) and reaches top speeds of 50 miles per hour (80 km/h). The original roller coaster at Six Flags Great America was partially devised by the park's general manager Jim Wintrode. Batman: The Ride was the world's first inverted roller coaster when it opened in 1992, and has since been awarded Coaster Landmark status by the American Coaster Enthusiasts. Its decorative theme is based on the first Batman film. Clones of the ride exist at amusement parks around the world.
The concept of an inverted roller coaster with inversions was developed by Jim Wintrode, the general manager of Six Flags Great America, in the 1990s. To develop the idea, Wintrode worked with Walter Bolliger and Claude Mabillard – from Swiss roller coaster manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard – and engineer Robert Mampe. The ride soft opened to the public on May 2, 1992, with an official opening one week later. Although the full cost of the ride was never disclosed, it was the single biggest investment made by Six Flags Great America on one attraction.
Six Flags México is an amusement park located in the Tlalpan forest and borough, on the southern edge of Mexico City, Mexico. It is owned and operated by Six Flags Inc. and the only Six Flags park operating in Latin America. Six Flags México is the most visited theme park in Mexico and Latin America. It was previously known as Reino Aventura and was a Mexican-owned and run theme park, during which time the orca whale Keiko (featured in the movie Free Willy) was its principal attraction.
Reino Aventura (Spanish for "Adventure Kingdom") opened its gates in 1982, and is since then the largest theme park in Latin America. The park's mascot was a purple cartoon dragon named Cornelio. Since its opening, no new attractions were added, thus attendance dropped. In 1992 the park was closed for an extensive remodeling as well as adding new rides, opening once again on July 3, 1993, with the new moniker El Nuevo Reino Aventura (The New Adventure Kingdom) featuring new rides such as Río Salvaje (Wild River, a raft ride), Viaje Inesperado (Unexpected Trip, a motion simulator) and Roller Skater (a Vekoma Kiddie Coaster) and Power Tower (Now is Kilahuea) In that same year, the feature film Free Willy was shot in the park. This attracted numerous animal rights organizations, which pressured the park to free the orca Keiko. After Keiko left, Cornelio the dragon became once again the Park's official mascot.

The Dark Knight Rises is a 2012 British-American superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan, who co-wrote the screenplay with his brother Jonathan Nolan, and the story with David S. Goyer. Featuring the DC Comics character Batman, the film is the final installment in Nolan's Batman film trilogy, and the sequel to Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008). Christian Bale reprises the lead role of Bruce Wayne/Batman, with a returning cast of allies: Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as James Gordon, and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox. The film introduces Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway), a sly, morally ambiguous cat burglar, and Bane (Tom Hardy), a revolutionary bent on destroying Gotham City who forces an older Bruce Wayne to come out of retirement and become Batman again.
Christopher Nolan was hesitant about returning to the series for a second time, but agreed after developing a story with his brother and Goyer that he felt would conclude the series on a satisfactory note. Nolan drew inspiration from Bane's comic book debut in the 1993 "Knightfall" storyline, the 1986 series The Dark Knight Returns, and the 1999 storyline "No Man's Land". Filming took place in locations including Jodhpur, London, Nottingham, Glasgow, Los Angeles, New York City, Newark, and Pittsburgh. Nolan used IMAX 70 mm film cameras for much of the filming, including the first six minutes of the film, to optimize the quality of the picture. A vehicle variation of the Batplane and Batcopter termed the "Bat", an underground prison set, and a new Batcave set were created specifically for the film. As with The Dark Knight, viral marketing campaigns began early during production. When filming concluded, Warner Bros. refocused its campaign: developing promotional websites, releasing the first six minutes of the film, screening theatrical trailers, and sending out information regarding the film's plot.
Batman, also known as Batman: The Video Game, is a platform game developed by Sunsoft for the Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Genesis, and Game Boy, loosely based on the 1989 film of the same name. The NES version contains five levels culminating in a showdown with the Joker in the bell tower of Gotham Cathedral. It was received well despite changes from the movie it was based upon.
Sunsoft followed up the release of Batman with Batman: Return of the Joker.
The game has a feature that was unusual to side-scrolling platform games at the time, largely to the NES itself. Unlike Sunsoft's Batman for the Mega Drive/Genesis, Batman has the ability to wall jump, which is reminiscent of Ryu Hayabusa's wall scaling in Ninja Gaiden. He is also able to use three projectile weapons: the batarang, dirk, and bat speargun, which are powered by pellet cartridges. A number of DC Comics villains appear as enemies in the game including Deadshot, KGBeast, Maxie Zeus, Heat Wave, Shakedown, and Nightslayer. The bosses in the game are Killer Moth, a device known as the Machine Intelligence System, the Electrocutioner, a machine known as the Dual-Container Alarm, Firebug, and the Joker.
