Barry Williams (rugby league)

Barry Williams born in Great Broughton, is a professional rugby league footballer of the 1990s, playing at representative level for Wales, and Cumbria, and at club level for Carlisle, and Workington Town, as a hooker, i.e. number 9. A wonderfully talented ball-playing forward, Williams played a prominent role as Carlisle beat Castleford in the 1995-96 Regal Trophy. A season earlier, he had helped Workington finish ninth in the old first division. In 1997 he turned down a move to Leeds Rhinos in order to have another spell at Town.

International honours

Barry Williams won caps for Wales while at 1991…1994 4-caps 1-try 4-points.

Barry William Blenkhorn (born September 30, 1954), known professionally as Barry Williams, is an American actor best known for his role as the eldest of the Brady sons, Greg Brady, on the ABC television series The Brady Bunch.

Early life and career

Williams, youngest of 3 boys, was born in 1954 in Santa Monica, California, to Doris May Moore and Canadian-born Frank Millar Blenkhorn of English, Scottish, and German ancestry Barry and siblings Craig and Scott Blenkhorn grew up in Pacific Palisades, California, where actor Peter Graves was a neighbor. Williams decided as a child that he wanted to be an actor, and in 1967 he made his television debut in an episode of Dragnet.

Williams continued to be cast in guest roles on other TV series including Adam-12, The Invaders, That Girl, Mission: Impossible, The Mod Squad, Here Come the Brides and Bartleby, the Scrivener before being cast in 1969 as Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch.

Later career

Following the cancellation of The Brady Bunch in 1974, Williams continued to appear in guest roles on television, and became involved in musical theater, touring with productions such as Grease, The Sound of Music, and West Side Story.

Barry Williams (rugby union)

Barry Hugh Williams (born 6 January 1974 in Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire) is a Welsh international rugby union player. In 1997, he toured South Africa with the British & Irish Lions and at the time played club rugby for Neath RFC.

He has previously played for Llandovery RFC, Llanelli RFC, Neath RFC, Richmond RFC, Bristol Rugby, Swansea and the Ospreys He is the current coach of Llandeilo RFC. It has been announced that he will be Head Coach at Llangennech RFC for the 2010/11 season.

Barry Williams (spree killer)

Barry Kenneth Williams (1944 – 24 December 2014), known since 1994 as Harry Street, was a British spree killer. A foundry worker who lived with his parents, he shot eight people in the English Midlands towns of West Bromwich and Nuneaton in the space of little over an hour on 26 October 1978, killing five. Following a high-speed car chase, he was arrested and in 1979 was convicted of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. He was detained in high-security hospitals under mental health legislation.

After being given a conditional release in 1994, he changed his name, moved to Wales, and married. In 2014, following allegations of harassment against his neighbours, he was convicted of further firearms offences. He was again ordered to be detained in a secure hospital, with little likelihood of release, and died in December 2014.

Background

At the time of his first offence, Williams was an unmarried foundry worker. He lived at 14 Andrew Road on the Bustleholme Mill estate in West Bromwich, West Midlands, England with his elderly parents, Hilda and Horrace, who owned and ran a metal polishing business in Birmingham.
