Barot (caste)
Barot are a caste of Gujarat, traditionally their maternal side belongs to Bramins and paternal side belongs to Kshatriya (Rajput). They are mostly known for their wisdom. They also additionally worked as mythographers. They were also known by name of Brahmbhatt". Barot are also known as Rao, Bhatt, Bhat, butt, Inamdar and Jagirdar. Barot used to be kings advisers and warriors , Bhatt means knowlagable person and this word was used for scholars among North Indian and Pakistani Indo-aryan people, there are some popular Bhatt people like Aryabhatta an astrologer and mathematician, Birbal whose real name was Dilip shingh Bhat known as Akbar's personal adviser, Bajirao Bhat The great Martha who is known as Bajirao Peshwa.
Origin
Traditionally, Barots are half Kshtriya and half Bramin, They are known for their bravery and intelligence. Barots used to motivate kings and their worriers at the time of war. Chand Barot, the friend and advisor of Prithviraj Chauhan belongs to this sub-clan. They were a respected Hindu community, a sub-cast of Brahmin and half Kshatriya origin.

Baraut
Baraut is a small city and municipal board in Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh, India, just 55 kilometres (34 mi) from the national capital and falling within the National Capital Region. Previously, Baraut was within Meerut district until Baghpat district was split off from Meerut.
Geography
Baraut is located at 29°36′N 77°10′E / 29.6°N 77.16°E / 29.6; 77.16. It spread in the area of 10.36 square kilometers. Its average elevation is 231 m (758 feet). Baraut is served by two state highways, SH-57 & SH-82.
Demographics
According to the 2011 India census, urban Baraut has an estimated population of 150,992, of which 80,570 (53%) are male and 70,422 (47%) are female. Urban Baraut has an average literacy rate of 65%, which is lower than the national average of 74%, with 72% of males and 57% of females being literate. The census also showed that 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.
