Barot are a caste of Gujarat, traditionally their maternal side belongs to Bramins and paternal side belongs to Kshatriya (Rajput). They are mostly known for their wisdom. They also additionally worked as mythographers. They were also known by name of Brahmbhatt". Barot are also known as Rao, Bhatt, Bhat, butt, Inamdar and Jagirdar. Baraut is a small city and municipal board in Baghpat district, Uttar Pradesh, India, just 55 kilometres (34 mi) from the national capital and falling within the National Capital Region. Previously, Baraut was within Meerut district until Baghpat district was split off from Meerut.
