Barbara Rapp, born 1972 in Klagenfurt, Austrian mixed media artist, lives and works in Velden am Woerthersee, Austria and Germany. Her work has been exhibited all over the world since 1994, she is involved in several international art projects. Barbara Rapp deals intensively with socio-political and socio-cultural developments. She interprets her observations about these topics with a critical wink of the eye but no finger wagging. Important matters of her work are the development of the role of women in today's society, gender and individualism. She is also engaged with the protest against female genital mutilation and supports corresponding art-projects.
