Bapatla
Bapatla is a town in Guntur District of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the 12 municipalities in the district. The town is the headquarters of Bapatla mandal and administered under Tenali revenue division. It is located 27 miles (43 km) south of Guntur City.
Etymology
The town was formerly known as Bhavapatla and Bhavapuri. The name Bhavapuri was evolved from the deity of Bhavanarayana swamy temple located in the town.
Geography
The coordinates of the town are 15.8889° N, 80.4700° E and is located 8 km from the coast of Bay of Bengal. It is located 49 km from Guntur, about 93 km from the state capital Amaravathi. It is 16 km north to Chirala.
Climate
Being very close the coast, the town experiences hot summers and cool winters. The maximum temperature ranges between 40 C to 50 C in summer and the minimum temperature ranges between 18 C - 25 C in winter. The precipitation is very high that this place receives an annual rainfall of about 115 cm of rainfall. In the month of October the town receives a maximum rainfall of 23 cm.
Bapatla (SC) (Lok Sabha constituency)
Bapatla Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies of Andhra Pradesh in India and one among the three constituencies in the Guntur district of the state. This constituency is reserved for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste.

Bapatla (Assembly constituency) is a constituency of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in India. It is one of 17 constituencies in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. As per the Delimitation Orders (2008), the constituency covers Bapatla mandal, Pittalavanipalem mandal and Karlapalem mandals. It is also a part of Bapatla (SC) (Lok Sabha constituency).

Kona Raghupathi is the present MLA of the constituency representing the YSR Congress Party. He defeated Annam Satish Prabhakar of Telugu Desam Party in the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections.
