Sharon G. Flake

Sharon G. Flake (born December 24, 1955) is an American writer of young adult literature. She has lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with her daughter for many years. She is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a BA in English.

Her debut novel The Skin I'm In (1998) follows a young African American girl who has issues with people teasing her about the color of her skin and the way she dresses. She tries her best to fit in but it doesn't go too well. She learns that trying to fit in is not the best way to make people like you. Her works have won numerous awards. The Skin I'm In won the John Steptoe Award for New Talent in 1999 for new authors and garnered positive feedback from Booklist and School Library Journal. She has been a runner-up for two Coretta Scott King Awards.

Flake was born in Philadelphia. She is the second youngest child, with three brothers and two sisters, and grew up in an inner-city neighborhood. Her father worked for Philadelphia Gas Co., while her mother did days work and raised her children. Through their guidance, Flake and her siblings were encouraged to be themselves, learning about culture through music, TV, politics, and books. As a teenager, she attended Simon Gratz High School, where she was a member of the tennis team.She wrote many books.

Bang (Rye Rye song)

"Bang" is a song and single by rapper/dancer Rye Rye featuring M.I.A.. It was recorded in 2008 and appears on the deluxe version of her 2012 album Go! Pop! Bang!. It was released in 2009 on N.E.E.T. Recordings and Interscope Records. The single was released first, followed by an EP of remixes, Bang – The Remixes, which includes remixes by Buraka Som Sistema and DJ Sega. The song appears in the films Fast & Furious and Step Up 3D and in the episode "The Sorkin Notes" of the TV-series Entourage.

Music video

The video features Rye Rye, M.I.A. and several Baltimore club dancers including Whyte Boi dancing in a dark, messy underground club setting. The video was directed by M.I.A. in Baltimore.

Bang! (drama game)

Bang! (also known as The Gun Game! amongst other variants) is a drama game, in which players stand in a circle and shoot each other with imaginary guns.

The objectives of the game include enhancing concentration skills and reaction time as well as helping groups of people remember each other's names.

Rules

The workshop leader/director or other nominated person does not join the circle. Each remaining player holds an imaginary gun in each hand, pointed at the adjacent player.

The leader will call out a player's name. If he/she calls "John" then John must duck to avoid being shot. The players on either side of John must shout "bang!" One of the following then occurs:

If someone accidentally ducks or shoots when they were not supposed to be doing so then they are also out.

Rough (album)

Rough is Tina Turner's third solo album, released in September 1978 on the EMI label in the UK, Ariola Records in West Germany and United Artists in the United States.

Overview

Rough was Turner's first solo album after her 1976 split with husband Ike Turner. Her first two solo albums, Tina Turns the Country On! (1974) and Acid Queen (1975), were recorded while she was still married to Ike Turner and also a member of the Ike and Tina Turner Revue. Rough would be the first album where there was no association with Ike Turner. The divorce proceedings between the Turners finally ended in 1978, the same year Rough was released, leaving Tina penniless - but with the legal right to still use her stage name Tina Turner.

The album was made up of rock songs, instead of the soul, bluesy, and R&B music that she typically had performed with the Revue. But the album was recorded at the height of the disco era and so shows influences from that genre. The opening track, "Fruits of the Night", for example, was co-written by Giorgio Moroder's longtime collaborator Pete Bellotte. Turner also included a cover of Bob Seger's "Fire Down Below", which was later covered again by Bette Midler for the 1979 movie The Rose. The album also includes Turner's first cover version of Elton John's "The Bitch Is Back", which she re-recorded in 1991 for the tribute album Two Rooms: Celebrating the Songs of Elton John & Bernie Taupin.

Golf course

A golf course is the grounds where the game of golf is played. It comprises a series of holes, each consisting of a teeing ground, a fairway, the rough and other hazards, and a green with a flagstick ("pin") and hole ("cup"). A standard round of golf consists of eighteen holes. Most courses contain eighteen holes; some share fairways or greens, and a subset has nine holes, played twice per round. Par-3 courses consist of nine or eighteen holes all of which have a par of three strokes.

Many older courses are links, often coastal. Courses are private, public, and municipally owned, and typically feature a pro shop. Many private courses are found at country clubs.

Design

Although a specialty within landscape design or landscape architecture, golf course architecture is considered a separate field of study. Some golf course architects become celebrities in their own right, such as Robert Trent Jones, Jr.; others are professional golfers of high standing and demonstrated appreciation for golf course composition, notably Jack Nicklaus. The field is partially represented by the American Society of Golf Course Architects, the European Institute of Golf Course Architects, and the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects, though many of the finest golf course architects in the world choose not to become members of any such group, as associations of architects are not government-sanctioned licensing bodies, but private groups.

Rough (film)

Rough is a 2014 Telugu film directed by C. H. Subba Reddy. The movie is produced by M. Abilash on Sridevi Entertainments Banner while Aadi, Rakul Preet Singh and Srihari play pivotal roles. Mani Sharma composed the Music.Actor Srihari died before the film was released. The film received mixed reviews from critics and turned out to average hit at the box office.

The film soundtrack and background music were composed by Mani Sharma. The soundtrack consists of 7 songs; all of their lyrics were penned by Bhaskarabhatla. Narendra, Karunya, Pavan Charan, Hemachandra, Simha, Sravana Bhargavi and Sudhamayi were the playback singers. The soundtrack was marketed by Junglee Music. The album cover depicts the lead pair from one of the film's songs. The soundtrack was unveiled on 3 November 2014 at JRC Function Hall in Hyderabad. Suriya attended the event as the chief guest while Rana Daggubati, Nithiin and Allari Naresh in attendance along with the film's principal cast & crew.
