The Bahlui is the largest river of Iaşi County, in eastern Romania. Its name is derived from Cuman and it means "muddy river". The Bahlui river has a length of 119 km and an average volume flowing of about 2.8 m³/s. The surface of the basin has about 2007 km².
Its spring is located at an altitude of 500 metres in the Tudora Comune, Botoşani County, in the eastern part of Suceava Plateau. It flows through the Jijia Plain, from north-west toward south-east and through the cities of Hârlău (formerly named after the river: Târgul Bahluiului) and Iaşi. It flows into the Jijia near Holboca, east of Iași. The quality of its waters is rather low, due to spills of industrial plants, especially in Iași. The Pârcovaci and Tansa-Belcești are located on the Bahlui River

Old man go to the river
To drop his bale of woes
He could go if he wanted to
It's just a boat to row you know, whoa
listen to me now...
Chorus:
Blue river keep right on rollin'
All along the shoreline
Keep us safe from the deep
And the dark
We don't want to stray too far
I spent the day with my old dog mo
Walkin' down an old dirt road
What he's thinkin' about
I don't know
But for him i bet the time
Just goes so slow
He's just a dog you know
Listen to me now...
Chorus:
Blue river keep right on rollin'
All along the shoreline
Keep us safe from the deep
And the dark
Don't want to stray too far
Young man stands with his ax in his hand
Believin' that the crops are all in
Firewood stacked ten by ten
For the wife, the folks, the kids
And all of the kin
And a friend...
Chorus:
Blue river keep right on rollin'
All along the shoreline
keep us safe from the deep
And the dark
We don't want to stray too far
We don't want to stray too far
