"Bad Romance" is a song by American singer Lady Gaga from her third extended play, The Fame Monster (2009). It was written and produced by Gaga and RedOne. Lyrically, "Bad Romance" explores Gaga's attraction to individuals with whom romance never works, her preference for lonely relationships and the paranoia she experienced while on tour. Following an illegal demo leak, Gaga showcased the final product at Alexander McQueen's show at the Paris Fashion Week in October 2009, followed by the release of the single's cover art. Musically, "Bad Romance" features a spoken bridge, a full-throated chorus and sung lyrics about being in love with one's best friend. The song, which is imbued with elements of Germanesque house and techno, as well as music from 1980s and the 1990s, was touted by Gaga as an experimental pop record. The song contains a few lines in French.
Most commentators were enticed by "Bad Romance", which they declared one of the highlights of The Fame Monster album. It was included in the 'best-of' lists in several media outlets such as Rolling Stone and Pitchfork Media, and acquired two Grammy Awards for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best Short Form Music Video. In the United States, "Bad Romance" peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, and it has been certified eleven-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), having sold nearly 5.6 million digital downloads as of April 2015. It achieved worldwide success by topping the charts in a variety of markets, ultimately selling 12 million copies worldwide, thus becoming one of the best-selling singles of all time.
Bad Romance (Chinese: 花为眉; pinyin: Hua wei mei; Alt. title: Les Mauvais Romans) is a 2011 independent drama film. Its English-language title was based on the song "Bad Romance", by singer/songwriter Lady Gaga. It was written and directed by first-time filmmaker François Chang, who has taken the essence of the song to create a story focussing on seven lonely individuals whose lives could be transformed after experiencing love at first sight.
The film premiered at the 27th Annual Boston LGBT Festival on 7 May 2011, and features male full-frontal nudity.
The director has subsequently directed two other films: Chifumi (2013) and The Forgiven (2015).
The story follows seven young men and women and their love lives: heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual, across the city of Beijing. A single mother meets a young student; a city boy meets a guy of his dream; a girl falls into a love game between a male and a female classmate from her French class.
Bad Romance was filmed on location in Beijing, and was written, filmed and edited by debut Chinese filmmaker François Chang, with a largely unknown cast, an original music score combined with the popularly-known music of singer/songwriter Lady Gaga, and a limited budget.

I stand here waiting
For you to bang the gong!
To crash the critic saying
''Is it right or is it wrong?''
If only fame had an I.V.
Baby could I bear
Being away from you
I found the vein, put it in here
I live for the applause, applause, applause
I live for the applause -plause
Live for the applause -plause
Live for the way that you cheer me and scream for me
The applause, applause, applause
Give me that thing that I love
(I'll turn the lights out)
Put your hands up make 'em touch, touch
(Make it real loud)
Give me that thing that I love
(I'll turn the lights out)
Put your hands up make 'em touch, touch
(Make it real loud)

Put your hands up make 'em touch

I've overheard your theory:
Nostalgia's for geeks
I guess sir, if you say so
Some of us just like to read
One second I'm a koons then
Suddenly the koons is me
Pop culture was in art
Now art's in pop culture, in me
I live for the applause, applause, applause
I live for the applause -plause
Live for the applause -plause
Live for the way that you cheer me and scream for me
The applause, applause, applause
Give me that thing that I love

Put your hands up make 'em touch

Give me that thing that I love
