"Bad Boy for Life" is a song by American rappers P. Diddy, Black Rob and Mark Curry, featured on Diddy's 2001 third album The Saga Continues.... Contrary to popular belief, Mike Tyson does not appear in this video due to safety fears, instead sending his body guard in his place. Produced by Megahertz (Dorsey Wesley), it was released as the second single from the album in November 2001 and reached number 33 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In reviews of the album, "Bad Boy for Life" has been identified as a declaration of strength by Diddy's label Bad Boy Records. Jason Birchmeier of music website Allmusic explains that the song summarises the claim "that [the] Bad Boy empire is in fact still an empire", while Entertainment Weekly reviewer David Browne similarly points out the lyric "It's official/I survived what I been through" as a declaration of strength. Soren Baker of the Los Angeles Times identifies "Bad Boy for Life", in addition to previous single "Let's Get It", as particularly important to the success of the album.

"Bad Boy" is a song by The Adicts released in May 1983. It was released as a standard black vinyl 7-inch single and also as a 7-inch picture disc with one additional track. The single was the band's biggest hit, reaching number 75 on the UK Singles Chart and number four on the UK Independent Chart. This brought major label interest to the band, which led to their next single being released by the Warner imprint Sire Records. "Bad Boy" was included on the band's next studio album Smart Alex, while both b-sides originally appeared on Sound of Music.
"Bad Boy" was the second single released by the American band Miami Sound Machine led by Gloria Estefan on their second English language album, and ninth overall, Primitive Love. The song enjoyed much success following up on the band's mainstream breakthrough single, "Conga".
The radio release and single was an edited and remixed version of the original album cut. It was remixed by Shep Pettibone. "Bad Boy" became the band's second Top Ten single in the United States, peaking at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and reached the Top 20 in many other countries around the world. The single was certified Gold by the RIAA in the U.S. for sales of 500,000 units and by the ARIA in Australia for sales of 35,000 copies. The song landed at #79 on Billboard magazine's year-end chart of 1986.
The video of the song received high rotation on MTV and other video music channels. Two videos were made with the second one featuring Estefan with the cast of the musical Cats. The song opened the film, Three Men and a Baby.
For Life is the debut studio album by American indie-pop band Phases, after their first, Suicide Pact, was released under their old name of JJAMZ in 2012.
The single "I'm In Love With My Life" was used in an ad for The Honest Company.
Lead singer Z Berg told Entertainment Weekly, "The time before we started making this music was kind of uncertain, and we had been playing music together as JJAMZ for years and years. As much as I love that record and that music, there was no real concept or direction for it. When it came time to think about how we move forward, we didn’t have the foundational structure to know where to go next." In a separate interview for Nylon she explained, "None of us were in a great place. I wanted to move out of L.A., and I didn't know if we were going to play music together. Then this music really brought us back together and strengthened our friendship and our excitement as a band." Berg told Artistdirect that the band's new sound came about from co-producer Alex Greenwald making recordings in his house: "He sort of sequestered himself in his house ... and learned how to record music. He recorded on Garage Band and an outdated version at that. He just became this electronic recording wizard. That's where we started." When Berg heard Greenwald's experimental recordings, "It sounded like weird, future spaceship music, from a very old spaceship. I thought, 'Alright, whatever happens, let’s at least work on this and make songs for fun, without thinking where they go or who they’re for.'" The group then wrote and jammed in Greenwald's home, silently projecting visually interesting films like Tron and Total Recall on the walls for inspiration.
