Baby Jane Hudson is a fictional character and the antagonist of Henry Farrell's 1960 novel What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? She was portrayed by Bette Davis in the 1962 film adaptation and by Lynn Redgrave in the 1991 made-for-TV remake. The 1962 production is the better-known, with Bette Davis earning an Academy Award nomination for her performance.
At the chronological beginning of the story, Baby Jane Hudson is a highly successful child star in Vaudeville, billed as the "The Diminutive Dancing Duse From Duluth". In the film version, a prologue set in 1917 shows her performing with her father, while her mother and sister Blanche watch from backstage. She is evidently favored and spoiled by her father, while her mother attempts to soften Blanche's anger and envy, by promising that one day her chance at stardom will come. The novel reveals that the sisters move to Hollywood to live with an aunt who favors Blanche the way their father had preferred Jane. By the mid-1930s, Blanche and Jane are in Hollywood. Blanche is a successful actress while Jane gets film work only because her sister's contract demands it. While Blanche becomes the leading lady of her era, Jane is widely seen as a has-been, and her films are critical and commercial failures.

"Baby Jane" is a 1983 song by British rock vocalist Rod Stewart. It was a significant hit worldwide and remains his final UK number one single to date.
Written by Rod Stewart and Jay Davis and produced by Stewart, Tom Dowd, George Cutko and Jim Cregan, the song was the lead single from his Body Wishes album and was his most successful single since "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" in 1978.
To date, the song has remained as the 6th and final UK number one single for Stewart. In the US, the song was also a big hit, peaking at no. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The single also charted highly in Australia, peaking at no. 10.
"Baby Jane" is a song recorded by soul singer Otis Clay in 1969 for Dakar Records. Dr. Feelgood covered the track in 1977, it first appeared on Be Seeing You, a Dr. Feelgood album released in September that year.
"Baby Jane" was also released as a single in the UK in November 1977.
The song was written by Bishop, Nesbitt, Reed, Simmons and Wilson (except from Lee Simmons all other co-writers were members of legendary funk band "Pieces of Peace", so it is likely that Pieces of Peace were the backing band for Otis Clay). "Baby Jane" was produced by Nick Lowe, the song was Dr. Feelgood's eighth single. The b-side of the record, "Looking Back", was penned by Johnny "Guitar" Watson. (Not to be confused with "Johnny Guitar"; Dr. Feelgood's guitarist from 1981 to 1983)
The record did not make the UK Singles Chart. A 12" vinyl was also issued, which included a third track, a live recording of the B.B. King penned, "You Upset Me Baby". The live take was recorded at the Paddocks, Canvey Island, by Vic Maile with the Maison Rouge Mobile, on 10 June 1977. The cover shown (right) is from the 12" release, as the 7" did not have a picture sleeve.
Baby Jane don't leave me hanging on the line
I knew you when you had no one to talk to
Now you're moving in high society
don't forget
I know secrets about you
I used to think you were on my side but now
I'm no longer sure
I wish I knew what
I know now before
When I give my heart again
I know it's gonna last forever
No one tell me where or when
I know it's gonna last forever
Baby Jane don't it make you feel sad just when
I thought that we were winning
You and I were so close in every way don't time fly when you're loving and laughing
I've said goodbye so many times the situation ain't all that new Optimism's my best defense
I'll get through without you
When I give my heart again
I know it's gonna last forever
No one tell me where or when
I know it's gonna last forever
I won't be that dumb again I know it's gotta last forever
When I fall in love again I know it's gonna last forever
Baby Jane
I've said all I want to say go your own way don't think twice about me
Cause I've got ideas and plans of my own so long darlin'
I'll miss you believe me
The lesson learned was so hard to swallow but
I know that I'll survive
I'm gonna take a good look at myself and cry
When I give my heart again I know it's gonna last forever
No one tell me where or when I know it's gonna last forever
When I fall in love next time I know it's gonna last forever
