Baby It's You is a 1983 American film written and directed by John Sayles. It stars Rosanna Arquette and Vincent Spano.

This was Sayles' first film for a major Hollywood studio. He based the screenplay on an autobiographical story by Amy Robinson.

Plot

The film is about a romance between an upper middle class Jewish girl named Jill Rosen (Arquette), who is bound for Sarah Lawrence College, and a blue-collar Italian boy nicknamed the Sheik (Spano) in late 1966 New Jersey, who aspires to follow in Frank Sinatra's footsteps.

The movie follows their high school experiences during their romance: Jill's success in high school acting productions, Jill's rebuffing Sheik's sexual advances, Sheik's one-night stand with a sexually active friend of Jill's, and a subsequent suicide attempt by that friend.

Eventually, Sheik is expelled from school, and after an attempted robbery and subsequent pursuit by local police, Sheik goes to Miami, Florida, while Jill subsequently leaves for her first year at Sarah Lawrence in the fall of 1967. At one point in her first year, Jill visits Sheik in Florida, and although she sees clearly how little he has going for him (he has found work in a nightclub washing dishes and, on weekends, lipsynching to Frank Sinatra recordings), she chooses to have sex with him, for their first (and only) time. In the moments before they undress, their conversation turns to his odd nickname, which he had not explained to Jill when they dated in high school. "Sheik" is brand of condoms, he explains--"like Trojans."

Baby It's You!

Baby It's You! is a jukebox musical written by Floyd Mutrux and Colin Escott, featuring the music of the 1960s pop group the Shirelles. The show "tells the story of Florence Greenberg and Scepter Records, the label Greenberg started when she signed the Shirelles." After several tryouts and premieres, the show debuted on Broadway in April 2011, directed by Sheldon Epps.

The Shirelles were an American girl group in the early 1960s, and the first to have a number one single on the Billboard Hot 100. The members of the quartet were Shirley Owens (the main lead singer), Doris Coley, Beverly Lee, and Addie "Micki" Harris.

Florence Greenberg (September 16, 1913 – November 2, 1995) originally created Tiara Records. The first song recorded and released on the label was "I Met Him On a Sunday", by the Shirelles. Just as the record started to break locally, Greenberg sold the company with the Shirelles' contract to Decca Records for US$4000. With that money, she started a new label in 1959, called Scepter Records, which became one of the leading record labels in the 60s.

"It's You" is a song by American–Canadian DJ duo Duck Sauce. The song was released as a single on June 25, 2013. A music video was uploaded to the duo's Vevo channel on YouTube on the same day. A slightly altered and longer version of the song was later featured on the duo's debut studio album Quack. The song has peaked at number 46 on the Belgian Flanders Tip singles chart, number 19 on the Belgian Wallonia Tip singles chart, and number 47 on the French Singles Chart. The song samples "It's You" by Bruce Patch.

Music video

The official music video for the song was uploaded on June 25, 2013 to the duo's Vevo channel on YouTube. The video takes place in a barbershop and is simply centered around the happenings of the barbershop. Chris Martins of Spin states that the video "begins mundanely enough, with our musical hosts behind the clippers, trimming the ‘dos of various customers. But as the beat picks up, the hair begins to move with the rhythm — eyeballs, too, and soon the entire salon transforms. Eventually a disco ball emerges from a sizable Afro, black-light head designs are revealed, and rising foam envelops the clientele." The video received a nomination under the Best Visual Effects category at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, but it eventually lost to "Safe and Sound" by Capital Cities.

"너라고 (It's You)" is a digital single by Korean boy band Super Junior. It is the second promotional single for the group's third studio album Sorry, Sorry and was digitally released on May 11, 2009. Three new tracks were added to the single on May 14, 2009, the same day as the physical release of the repackaged version of Sorry, Sorry.

Song history

"It's You" is written and produced by E-Tribe, the same composer who wrote several chart-topping songs. The collaboration was first announced on April 21, in which the group described the song to be "a mellow but trendy dance song" and very unlike the lively songs that E-Tribe has previously written for female singers. The song incorporates heavy electronic influences to a MIDI sequence, and it is expected to earn the same success as the urban funk song "Sorry, Sorry."
