Baltic and International Maritime Council

The Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO) is the largest of the international shipping associations representing shipowners; its membership controls around 65 percent of the world’s tonnage and it has members in more than 120 countries, including managers, brokers and agents. The association’s main objective is to protect its global membership through the provision of quality information and advice, and while promoting fair business practices, facilitate harmonisation and standardization of commercial shipping practices and contracts.

In support of its commitment to promote the development and application of global regulatory instruments, BIMCO is accredited as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) with all relevant United Nations organs. In an effort to promote its agenda and objectives, the association maintains a close dialogue with governments and diplomatic representations around the world, including maritime administrations, regulatory institutions, and other stakeholders within the areas of EU, the United States, and Asia.

BIMCO (congress)

BIMCO (Bukovinian International Medical Congress) is an annual international forum, which takes place in Bukovinian State Medical University (Chernivtsi, Ukraine). Being organized by mostly medical students and young scientists of BSMU this event is one of the largest in the Ukraine. Forum takes place every year in the spring (March–April).

Next, BIMCO-11 forum titled "Current Issues of Medicine and Pharmacy" will take place April 2–4, 2014.

History

Scientific forum organizes Student Scientific Society and Council of Young Scientists of Bukovinian State Medical University supported by the Rector, Professor T.M.Boychuk and the University Scientific Department led by professor O.I.Ivashchuk.

Since 2003 our Conference has passed a long way from the usual annual forum for students and young scientists of the University to the All-Ukrainian scientific students’ conference with international participation and since 2004 has acquired the international status. In 2009 the Conference for the first time was included in the Register of scientific congresses, symposia and scientific conferences approved by the Ministry of Public Health and National Academy of Medical Sciences in Ukraine.
