Ayub Khan

Ayub Khan is a compound masculine name; Ayub is the Arabic version of the name of the Biblical figure Job, while Khan is taken from the title used first by the Mongol rulers and then, in particular, their Islamic and Persian-influenced successors in South Asia, where the name is usually found, although Khan was being used before outside South Asia.

Ayub Khan (general)

Ayub Khan (Urdu: محمد ایوب خان‎; 14 May 1907 –19 April 1974) was the second President of Pakistan. He was the first native four-star general and also the self-appointed and only Field Marshal of Pakistan Army till date. He became President in 1958 following a bloodless military coup removing President Iskander Mirza and served as President till 25 March 1969's resignation among a political upheaval in East Pakistan.

Trained at Sandhurst, Ayub Khan fought in World War II as an officer in the British Indian Army. He joined the armed forces of the newly formed state of Pakistan upon independence in 1947, and became its chief military commander in East Bengal. He was appointed as the first native Commander-in-Chief of the Pakistan Army in 1951 by the then-Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan, in a controversial promotion over several senior officers. President Iskander Mirza's decision to declare martial law in 1958 was supported by Ayub, whom Mirza declared chief martial law administrator. Two weeks later, Ayub deposed Mirza in a bloodless coup and assumed the presidency. He relinquished the post of army chief to General Musa Khan the same year.

Ayub Khan (actor)

Ayub Khan (born 23 February 1969) is an Indian film and television actor, most known for TV series, Uttaran (2008–2015) . He is the son of actor Nasir Khan and Begum Para. His father was the brother of actor Dilip Kumar. His mother was the maternal aunt of Amrita Singh's mother Rukhsana Sultana.

He has acted in over 20 films since 1992 and in several television serials.

Personal life

Born in Hindko speaking of Awan tribe to former 1950s actress Begum Para and actor Nasir Khan. His mother's sister Zarina is the mother of Rukhsana Sultana, mother of actress Amrita Singh.

Ayub Khan is married to costume designer Niharika Khan, known for films like Rock On!! (2008) and The Dirty Picture (2011). They met while in college. When Niharika left to the US for her studies, they married other people. After 11 years they divorced and married each other.
