Reset (computing)
In a computer or data transmission system, a reset clears any pending errors or events and brings a system to normal condition or an initial state, usually in a controlled manner. It is usually done in response to an error condition when it is impossible or undesirable for a processing activity to proceed and all error recovery mechanisms fail. A computer storage program would normally perform a "reset" if a command times out and error recovery schemes like retry or abort also fail.
Most computers have a reset line that brings the device into the startup state and is active for a short time after powering on. For example, in the x86 architecture, asserting the RESET line halts the CPU; this is done after the system is switched on and before the power supply has asserted "power good" to indicate that it is ready to supply stable voltages at sufficient power levels. Reset places less stress on the hardware than power cycling, as the power is not removed. Many computers, especially older models, have user accessible "reset" buttons that assert the reset line to facilitate a system reboot in a way that cannot be trapped (i.e. prevented) by the operating system. Out-of-band management also frequently provides the possibility to reset the remote system in this way.
Reset (Tina Arena album)
Reset is the tenth studio album released by Australian singer and songwriter Tina Arena on 18 October 2013. The first single, "You Set Fire to My Life" was released on 26 September 2013. Despite not being released as a single, "Only Lonely" charted in the top 50 in late November due to being used in an advertisement for the Australian soap opera Home and Away. "Reset All" was released as the second official single on 18 December. Reset is Arena's sixth top 10 album in Australia. Reset was released in the United Kingdom on 3 November 2014.

"You Set Fire to My Life" was released at the first single in September 2013 and peaked at 38. "Reset All" was released as the second single and "Love You Less" was announced as the third single in March 2014, but did not eventuate. "Still Running" was released as the third single in August 2014. The video clip was filmed in Rome and released in July.
In addition to the official singles, "Only Lonely" charted at 32 and gained national interest after it was used in a commercial for the 2013 finale of Channel 7's Home and Away as well as at the 2014 Logie Awards.
Reset (Norwegian band)
Reset is a Norwegian musical group.
Reset started as a one man studio project in 1994 by Stig Antonsen, but was never finished. He decided to start again in 1996 with two friends, Trude Barstad and Christian Onshus. They released a single in the summer of 1996 called "U R My Dream" on the Sony Music label Dance Pool. The group split up after only six months together.
In late 1998 Stig was working with Camilla Henningsen on "Oh What A Day", a song that later would be included on the "Play" album. They decided to start Reset again and called in Thomas Borgvang, a local Radio DJ. The first song that was recorded with all 3 members was "Makin' Me Feel". The band performed their first gig in December 1998 at the NRJ Christmas-party at the Oslo Spektrum together with artists such as Snap!, Sash!, Solid Base & Jocelyn Brown.
2 months later, they signed a 4 album deal with the German record-company Edel Records. The single "Blue" was released in June 1999 and is until today the biggest selling Norwegian dance single ever, selling 18,000 copies. Their next single "Get Me" also became a huge success and reached a top 5 position on the Norwegian charts. In November 1999 Reset released their debut album Play and a few months later they received a Gold record for the album in Norway. They also released "Makin' Me Feel" as a single in 2000.
6½ Avenue
6½ Avenue is a north-south pedestrian passageway in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, running from West 57th to West 51st Streets between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.
The pedestrian-only avenue is a quarter-mile corridor of privately owned public spaces, such as open-access lobbies and canopied space, which are open except at night. There are stop signs and stop ahead signs at six crossings between 51st and 56th Streets. The mid-block crossing at 57th Street is equipped with a traffic light. At the crosswalk areas, there are sidewalk pedestrian ramps with textured surface and flexible delineators to prevent vehicles parking in the areas.
Each intersection along the thoroughfare has a street name sign that reads "6½ AV" and the name of the cross street to officially mark the street name. The mid-block stop signs are unusual for Manhattan, and the fractional avenue name is a new idea for the numbered street system of New York City.
History
In 2011, the Friends of Privately Owned Public Spaces proposed the creation of a six-block pathway from 51st to 57th Streets that would be mid-block between Sixth and Seventh Avenues to ease pedestrian traffic. The proposal called for connecting public spaces in the area, that were not known to most pedestrians, into a pedestrian corridor and naming it Holly Whyte Way. The idea was presented to the Community Board 5 Transportation Committee and the full Community Board 5, then the board sent a formal request to the New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) in May 2011.
137 Avenue, Edmonton
137 Avenue is a major arterial road in north Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This road travels through residential, industrial and commercial areas, including shopping and entertainment centres and districts.
The road starts at Ray Gibbon Drive, in southwest St. Albert, Big Lake being west of there. It links south St. Albert with Ray Gibbon Drive (St. Albert's West Bypass Road), by way of Riel Drive and Sir Winston Churchill Avenue. Within St. Albert the road is named LeClair Way. After entering Edmonton, at Sir Winston Churchill Avenue, it passes under Anthony Henday Drive, and continues through north Edmonton.
137 Avenue passes Golden West Golf Course and St. Albert Trail Golf Course between 170 Street, and St. Albert Trail (Mark Messier Trail). Past there is the St. Albert Trail and Pembina commercial areas, and Castle Downs neighbourhood. The avenue between Castle Downs Road and 97 Street forms the southern boundary of the old CFB Griesbach. At 97 Street (Highway 28) the road passes through the northgate commercial area with Northgate Centre and North Town Centre, and at 66 Street it passes Londonderry Mall. 137 Avenue again passes through commercial districts at Manning Drive and 50 Street, the latter being called Clareview Town Centre, and between which the LRT passes over. One final commercial area is located by Victoria Trail before 137 Avenue turns into 20 Street NW at Hermitage Park.
39 Avenue (CTrain)
39 Avenue (formerly named 42 Avenue) is a stop on the South Line (Route 201) of the CTrain light rail system in Calgary, Alberta. The station opened on May 25, 1981 as part of the original South line. The station is located on the exclusive LRT right of way 3.4 km South of the City Hall Interlocking, at 39 Avenue SE, just East of Macleod Trail and serves the Alyth-Manchester industrial area as well as the Elboya neighbourhood.
It is located near the north end of a short tunnel that passes underneath 42nd Avenue. 229 parking spaces are available at the station on both sides. The station consists of two side-loading platforms and is completely at grade. 39 Avenue Station is the most exposed station to the elements as there is no canopy at all, unlike every other LRT station.
The station was originally called 42 Avenue because 42 Avenue is a major commercial roadway in the area. In 1986, the City decided to rename the station 39 Avenue to better indicate where it is located.
