Uniregistry

Uniregistry is a Cayman Islands-based domain name registry that administers the generic top-level domains .audio, .auto, .blackfriday, .car, .cars, .christmas, .click, .diet, .flowers, .game, .gift, .guitars, .help, .hiphop, .hiv, .hosting, .juegos, .link, .lol, .mom, .photo, .pics, .property, .sexy, and .tattoo. In February 2012, the related company Uniregistrar Corporation became an ICANN-accredited registrar and launched under the licensed Uniregistry brand name in 2014.

History

Uniregistry Corporation was officially founded in 2012 by Frank Schilling, one of the largest private domain name portfolio owners in the world, and registered in the Cayman Islands. However, the domain Uniregistry.com was registered six years earlier and the company filed an intent to use the name in the Cayman Islands in 2010. Trademark applications for the "Uniregistry" mark and its stylized "U" logo were filed in 2012. That year, Schilling invested $60 million and applied for 54 new top-level domains. Uniregistrar Corporation became an ICANN-accredited registrar in February 2013. In January 2014, Uniregistry Inc. became a subsidiary in Newport Beach, California to house a West Coast service and support team. The registrar began operating under the licensed Uniregistry brand name in 2014. Uniregistry's registry infrastructure was designed by Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) and Uniregistry subsequently purchased its infrastructure in 2013.

Auto (company)

Aktieselskabet (A/S) Auto was a car dealer in Oslo (known as Kristiania until 1924), Norway.

It was founded in 1908 with Carl O. Nielsen as the first general manager. It had roots in his former company, C. O. Nielsens Automobilforretning. The company had a sales office in Kvadraturen (Tollbodgaten 20) and a workshop in Frogner (Lindemanns gate 9). It later expanded to incorporate other addresses in Lindemanns gate.

The company imported and sold Lorraine-Dietrich and Cottereau from the start, then also Isotta-Fraschini, Minerva and Thornycroft. During the First World War Dodge Brothers and Federal were added, during the interwar period Renault and De Dion-Bouton.

The company went defunct in 1930, amid the economic depression. The last manager was Carl Simonsen. Many of the car brands have also been discontinued.

WWW (Jaejoong album)

WWW (Who When Why) is the first studio album recorded by South Korean singer Kim Jaejoong. The album was released on 29 October 2013 by C-JeS Entertainment. Upon release the title song, "Just Another Girl" charted in 34 countries on iTunes, topping it in twelve countries.

Background

The album title was created by Jaejoong, "Who, When, Why" refers to the questions asked when a relationship ends.

It was the second album released by Jaejoong on 2013, following his mini-album, I and its repackage, Y, both which have been reported to be sold out.

Reception

Upon release the title song, "Just Another Girl" charted in 34 countries on iTunes, and the album topping the rock album category in twelve countries and regions, namely in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Barbados, Lithuania and Slovakia. It also charted #8 in Finland, #9 in Israel and #11 in Mexico.

The album also reaches the no.2 position in Gaon October monthly chart, despite being released on 29 October 2013, with sales reaching over 100 000 copies.

First International Conference on the World-Wide Web

Tim Berners-Lee drew what he called the "metro": a diagram of the relationships between the existing systems (FTP, SMTP, HTTP, ...) in the form of a stylised map resembling that of the London Underground. That made me think that we needed to deal with a lot more hard computer science than our small team of four or five could intellectually handle. Therefore I began to toy with the idea of an international conference on WWW technologies. Tim was not convinced, but I went ahead.

The First International Conference on the World-Wide Web (also known as WWW1) was the first-ever conference about the World Wide Web, and the first meeting of what became the International World Wide Web Conference. It was held on May 25 to 27, 1994 in Geneva, Switzerland. The conference had 380 participants, who were accepted out of 800 applicants. It has been referred to as the "Woodstock of the Web".

The event was organized by Robert Cailliau, a computer scientist who had helped to develop the original WWW specification, and was hosted by CERN. Cailliau had lobbied inside CERN, and at conferences like the ACM Hypertext Conference in 1991 (in San Antonio) and 1993 (in Seattle). After returning from the Seattle conference, he announced the new World Wide Web Conference 1. Coincidentally, the NCSA announced their Mosaic and the Web conference 23 hours later.

WWW2

WWW2 and WWW3 are hostnames or subdomains, typically used to identify a series of closely related websites within a domain, such as www.example.org, www2.example.org, and www3.example.org; the series may be continued with additional numbers: WWW4, WWW5, WWW6 etc. Traditionally, such websites are mirrors used for server load balancing. In some cases, the specific hostname may be obscured, creating the appearance that the user is viewing the "www" subdomain, even if they are actually viewing a mirror site.
