Au Go Go Records

Au Go Go Records is the name of a Melbourne, Australia based independent record label. It was founded by Bruce Milne and Philip Morland from a house in Brunswick Street, Fitzroy in 1979 and is now operated by Greta Moon.

The label started releasing bands on the Melbourne punk and new wave scene. Its first release was in 1979 with the EP Overnight by Two Way Garden. The labels first 25 releases were the bands' debut recordings, and included some seminal Australian acts such as The Young Charlatans, Mungabeans, Marching Girls, Clint Small, Scapa Flow, Little Murders, the Zorros and Dorian Gray. Philip Morland left and Greta Moon joined in 1982.

In April 1989, the label released the debut single by the Candy Harlots, entitled Red Hot Rocket, with the initial 500 copies pressed on red vinyl and wrapped in a pair of women's lace knickers.

By 1994 the label started to increase its profile due to the local and overseas success of bands like The Moodists (featuring Dave Graney and Mick Turner of Dirty Three). Releases from this later period included the Scientists "Swampland" (which was actually the b-side of the single, with the a-side being "This Is My Happy Hour") and God's "My Pal", one of the label's most popular releases, as well as titles by Ollie Olsen's band NO, Harem Scarem, various compilations such as the Asleep At The Wheel collection of (mostly unsigned) Melbourne bands, and the well-received Hard To Beat, a double album tribute to the Stooges, featuring many Australian acts.

1-2-3-4 Go! Records

1-2-3-4 Go! Records is an American independent record label and retail store, specializing in punk rock and indie rock, and is exclusively distributed by No Idea Records. The label was founded in August 2001 in Seattle. In December 2003 the label relocated to Oakland, California where it remains today. In March 2008 the label opened a retail store of the same name focusing on mostly vinyl releases of punk rock, indie rock, garage rock and a variety of other related genres. The store also features in-store performances and monthly art shows. Frank Portman of The Mr. T Experience has performed there.

Since opening the retail store, 1-2-3-4 Go! Records has won four Best of the East Bay awards from the East Bay Express. In 2009 it was awarded the Best Punk Record Store award and in 2008 it was awarded the Best New Business award alongside its neighbor Manifesto Bicycles.

Go Records

Go Records (usually badged as Go!! Records) was a small independent Melbourne-based recording label which ran from 1964 to 1968. Its releases were manufactured and distributed by the Melbourne-based recording and electronics company Astor.

The Go!! label was established by the producers of the similarly named The Go!! Show, Horrie Dargie, Arthur Young and Johnny Tillbrook (known as 'DYT Productions'). The label was noted for its cross-promotion of singers with the television show.

The label produced 54 singles but with only limited commercial success. Bands awarded contracts included The Cherokees, The Deakins, MPD Ltd, Tony & The Shantels (from Shepparton, Victoria), The Chosen Few (South Australia), and The Clique (Perth). One band, The Rondells, included several members who went on to form the rhythm section of Daddy Cool. Another group, The Strangers provided backing for the solo singers who appeared on The Go!! Show as well as performing their own material which was released on the Go!! label. Lead guitarist John Farrar went on to produce and write songs for Olivia Newton-John, most notably for the films Xanadu and Grease.
