Ashley Churchill Williams (born November 12, 1978) is an American television, film and Broadway actress. She is known for her roles in Good Morning Miami, Snow, Snow 2: Brain Freeze, and Montana Sky, and for her appearances on How I Met Your Mother.

Early life

Williams was born in Westchester County, New York, the daughter of Linda Barbara (née Payne), a fundraiser for The Michael J. Fox Foundation, and Gurney Williams III, a freelance health and science writer. She is the younger sister of Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who is also an actress, and is sister-in-law to country music star Brad Paisley.

Williams attended Rye High School in Rye, New York. In May 2001 she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Theatre.

Williams married producer Neal Dodson on May 29, 2011. Williams gave birth to their first child, a boy, Gus Williams Dodson, on October 5, 2014.

Career

Williams made her big-screen acting debut in a non-speaking role in the 1993 ensemble comedy-drama Indian Summer, which also featured her sister. She then spent from 1994 to 1996 playing teenage Danielle Andropoulos on the soap opera As the World Turns.

Ashley Errol Williams (born 23 August 1984) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Premier League club Swansea City and the Wales national team. He is currently captain of both teams. He plays mainly as a central defender.

Club career

Stockport County

Born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, Williams began his career at West Bromwich Albion as a youth player but was released by the club at 16. He went on to play for non-league Hednesford Town, before joining Division Two side Stockport County in 2003. Williams later became captain of Stockport, and was still at the club when he made his international debut.

In November 2007, Williams won both the inaugural North-West League Two Player of the Year Award and the North-West Player of the Year Award.

Swansea City

In March 2008, Williams signed for Swansea City on loan until the end of the 2007–08 season, with a view to a permanent move. After helping the Swans to clinch the League One title and, with it, promotion to the second tier of English football for the first time in 24 years, the move was made permanent for a reported £400,000 – a club record transfer fee at the time.
