Asami Sato is a major character, voiced by Seychelle Gabriel, in Nickelodeon's animated television series The Legend of Korra, which aired from 2012 to 2014. The character and the series, a sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender, were created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. The series' final scene, indicating the beginning of a romantic relationship between Asami and the female lead character, Korra, was unprecedented in its representation of LGBT persons in western children's television.
Unlike many people in the world of The Legend of Korra, Asami is not able to "bend", or manipulate, one of the elements of water, earth, fire, or air. She is the only child of the wealthy industrialist Hiroshi Sato, who invented the "Satomobile" and whose company, Future Industries, is headquartered in Republic City. Asami is a trained engineer, skilled pilot and driver, and competent unarmed combatant.
After befriending Avatar Korra in the first season, Asami, together with the pro-bending athletes and brothers Mako and Bolin, became one of Korra's regular companions. In between the first and second season, she became the head of Future Industries after her father was imprisoned for conspiring with the Equalists. She led the company back from the brink of collapse and defended it against the shady inventor and businessman Varrick's attempted takeover in the second season. In between her adventures with Korra, Asami and Future Industries were responsible for rebuilding much of Republic City after much of it was wrecked in the second season's finale. In the fourth season, now collaborating with Varrick and reconciled with her father, she helped thwart the invasion of the United Republic by Kuvira's Earth Empire.

This is a list of fictional characters featured in the Cosmic Era (CE) timeline of the Gundam anime metaseries. These characters appear in the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny anime television series, as well as in the manga and OVA spinoffs. Both series focus on the raging conflict between Naturals and Coordinators, the former being regular humans and the latter being genetically-enhanced ones.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED begins when the neutral space colony Heliopolis is attacked by ZAFT, a military organization composed of Coordinators. Coordinator Kira Yamato pilots the mobile suit GAT-X105 Strike to protect his friends on the Naturals' ship Archangel from potential enemies as they head towards Earth. Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny continues two years after Mobile Suit Gundam SEED and follows the teenager Shinn Asuka and his duties in ZAFT.
Kira Yamato (キラ・ヤマト) is a first-generation Coordinator, who lives on the neutral space colony Heliopolis to avoid war between the races of Coordinators and the Naturals, but such area ends involved in the war. Born as a Coordinator, Kira is the only person able to pilot the Strike mobile suit created by the Naturals, and is forced to pilot it into numerous battles to protect his friends. He is voiced in the Japanese series by Sōichirō Hoshi and in the English adaptation by Matt Hill.
The sato is a bowed tanbur, or long-necked lute, played by performers of Central Asian classical and folk music, mainly in Uzbekistan. Famous uzbek musician Turgun Alimatov is solely responisible for reviving the art of playing the sato, as it had completely disappeared for a number of centuries before he took it up in 1957. Thus he has been considered as the founder of the sato and its playing style and technique.
