The Master is a recurring character in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who and its associated spin-off works. The character is a renegade alien Time Lord and the archenemy of the title character the Doctor.

The Master has been played by multiple actors since the character's introduction in 1971. Within the show, this is varyingly explained as the Master taking possession of other characters' bodies, or as a consequence of regeneration, a biological attribute allowing Time Lords to survive fatal injuries. The role was originated by Roger Delgado. Delgado portrayed the Master from 1971 until his death in 1973. From 1976 until the show's cancellation in 1989, the Master was portrayed by a succession of actors: Peter Pratt, Geoffrey Beevers and Anthony Ainley. Gordon Tipple and Eric Roberts then took on the role for the 1996 Doctor Who TV movie. Since the show's revival in 2005, the Master has been portrayed by Derek Jacobi, John Simm and Michelle Gomez.

  • Horse gait

Horse gaits are the various ways in which a horse can move, either naturally or as a result of specialized training by humans.

    Classification

Gaits are typically categorized into two groups: the "natural" gaits that most horses will use without special training, and the "ambling" gaits that are various smooth-riding four-beat footfall patterns that may appear naturally in some individuals, but which usually occur only in certain breeds. Special training is often required before a horse will perform an ambling gait in respond to a rider's command.

Another system of classification that applies to quadrupeds uses three categories: walking and ambling gaits, running or trotting gaits, and leaping gaits.

The British Horse Society Dressage Rules require competitors to perform four variations of the walk, six forms of the trot, five leaping gaits (all forms of the canter), halt, and rein back, but not the gallop. The British Horse Society Equitation examinations also require proficiency in the gallop as distinct from the canter.

    As I Walk

    by: Dirge Within

The signs are coming in from every direction, and all the things that we believe have turned into lies
We walk the path we have chosen
    Let go
And you pray for nothing as the falling angel screams
I am the only one that understands, as I walk through the ashes alone
Of flesh and bone I understand, as I walk through the ashes alone
The streets are laid to waste as innocent victims fall from the sky
Because the devil burned off their wings
We walk the path we have chosen
    Let's go
And you bleed for nothing as the falling angel screams
I am the only one that understands, as I walk through the ashes alone
Of flesh and bone I understand, as I walk through the ashes alone
Silently we bleed, for the American Dream
    One more digression
    Another suppression
We walk the path we have chosen
I am the only one that understands, as I walk through the ashes alone
