Arthur (TV presenter)

Arthur (born Jacques Essebag on 10 March 1966 in Casablanca, Morocco) is a TV presenter, producer and comedian.

After having cancelled his law studies, he began his career as a host on local radio in the Paris region in the late 1980s. In the early 1990s, he found a certain notoriety by presenting programs on Fun Radio, Europe 1 and Europe 2 (Arthur et les pirates, PlanetArthur and Radio Arthur). He became, from 1991, host of television programs, first on France 2 and TF1 (Les Enfants de la télé, La Fureur).

Meanwhile, he started a theater career with two one-man shows, Arthur en vrai (2005) and I Show (2009) and portraying Peter Brochan in Le Dîner de Cons (2007), alongside Dany Boon.

Since the mid-1990s, he has also been an entrepreneur in the audiovisual field. He was, until 2006, vice president of the French subsidiary of production company Endemol. Since 2008, he has been the owner of Ouï FM.

Early years

Jacques Essebag was born on 10 March 1966 in Casablanca. His father, Michel Essebag, was a chartered accountant and his mother a housewife. He has a brother Olivier. Like many Sephardi Jews, his parents left Morocco in 1967, during the Six-Day War and settled in the Paris region, in Massy. After high school, he began studying law at Sceaux, at the Faculty of Law Jean Monnet of the University of Paris-Sud 11. While he repeated his first year, he made his first radio appearance, on the local radio station Massy-Pal, on which he hosted the show Tonus which provided sports scores for the city.

History of RISC OS

RISC OS, the computer operating system developed by Acorn Computers for their ARM-based Acorn Archimedes range, was originally released in 1987 as Arthur 0.20, soon followed by Arthur 0.30, and Arthur 1.20. The next version, Arthur 2, became RISC OS 2 and was completed and made available in April 1989. RISC OS 3 was released with the very earliest version of the A5000 in 1991 and contained a series of new features. By 1996 RISC OS had been shipped on over 500,000 systems.

RISC OS 4 was released by RISCOS Ltd (ROL) in July 1999, based on the continued development of OS 3.8. ROL had in March 1999 licensed the rights to RISC OS from Element 14 (the renamed Acorn) and eventually from the new owner, Pace Micro Technology. According to the company, over 6,400 copies of OS 4.02 on ROM were sold up until production was ceased in mid-2005.

RISC OS Select was launched in May 2001 by ROL. This is a subscription scheme allowing users access to the latest OS updates. These upgrades are released as soft-loadable ROM images, separate to the ROM where the boot OS is stored, and are loaded at boot time. Select 1 was shipped in May 2002, with Select 2 following in November 2002 and the final release of Select 3 in June 2004. ROL released the ROM based OS 4.39 the same month, dubbed RISC OS Adjust as a play on the RISC OS GUI convention of calling the three mouse buttons 'Select', 'Menu' and 'Adjust'. ROL sold its 500th Adjust ROM in early 2006.

Arthur (season 12)

The twelfth season of the television series Arthur was originally broadcast on PBS in the United States from October 2008 to April 2009. 20 episodes were produced for this season. The 10 episodes listed below were broadcast as season 12, and the other 10 were broadcast as season 13. This resulted all of season 13 episodes airing in several countries such as Canada and United Kingdom for many months prior the U.S. broadcast. This season was created and originally aired in 1080i HD format everywhere outside the U.S. The animation was produced by Animation Services HK Ltd. instead of by AKOM.

Joan Rivers guest starred as Francine's grandmother and Camel on the season's premiere episode "Is That Kosher?". Lance Armstrong guest starred in the episode "Room to Ride" as himself. Dallas Jokic replaced Cameron Ansell as the voice of Arthur. Lyle O'Donohoe replaced Paul-Stuart Brown as the voice of Brain.

Beer

Beer is the world's most widely consumed and likely the oldestalcoholic beverage; it is the third most popular drink overall, after water and tea. The production of beer is called brewing, which involves the fermentation of starches, mainly derived from cereal grains—most commonly malted barley, although wheat, maize (corn), and rice are widely used. Most beer is flavoured with hops, which add bitterness and act as a natural preservative, though other flavourings such as herbs or fruit may occasionally be included. The fermentation process causes a natural carbonation effect, although this is often removed during processing, and replaced with forced carbonation. Some of humanity's earliest known writings refer to the production and distribution of beer: the Code of Hammurabi included laws regulating beer and beer parlours, and "The Hymn to Ninkasi", a prayer to the Mesopotamian goddess of beer, served as both a prayer and as a method of remembering the recipe for beer in a culture with few literate people.

Psychostick

Psychostick is an American comedy metal band from Tempe, Arizona, known for their silly image and usage of humor in their songs and lyrics. Their style is referred to by themselves and some online album review sites as "humorcore". To date they have released four albums nationally. Their debut album, We Couldn't Think of a Title, was released on September 12, 2006. Their second album, Sandwich, was released on May 5, 2009, and their third album, titled Space Vampires VS Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D, was released August 16, 2011. Their most recent album was released on the fourth of November in 2014 titled IV: Revenge of the Vengeance. They began touring nationally in July 2006, and have toured with Mushroomhead, Look What I Did, Powerglove, Bobaflex, and have played with many national bands, including Three Days Grace, Army of Anyone, Sick Puppies, Anew Revolution, The Exies, Smile Empty Soul, as well as many others.

History

Origins and early years (2000–2003)

Around the 1990s in Odessa, Texas, the first inception of Psychostick existed under the name "Asinine", with the line-up consisting of Josh Key on vocals, Steve W. on guitar, Marvin S. on bass, and Bozzy C. on percussion. In 2000, Key ended Asinine and moved to Phoenix, Arizona to follow high-school friend and future vocalist Rob Kersey. Needing to complete the line-up, they found drummer Alex Preiss, through an ad in the local "musicians wanted" section of the Phoenix New Times and through Alex, found bassist Hunter Alexander and played shows under the new name, "Psychostick". The band released two initial demo tapes, "Don't Bitch, It's Free" (September 2000) and "Die... A Lot!" (August 2001). Uninterested in the comedy-metal genre, Alexander departed from the band in December 2001, and was replaced by Mike Kocian.
