Arapaho

The Arapaho (in French: Arapahos, Gens de Vache) are a tribe of Native Americans historically living on the plains of Colorado and Wyoming. They were close allies of the Cheyenne tribe and loosely aligned with the Lakota and Dakota. The Arapaho language, Heenetiit, is an Algonquian language closely related to Gros Ventre (Ahe/A'ananin), whose people are seen as an early offshoot of the Arapaho. Blackfeet and Cheyenne are the other Algonquian-speakers on the Plains, but their languages are quite different from Arapaho.

By the 1850s, Arapaho bands formed two tribes: the Northern Arapaho and Southern Arapaho. Since 1878, the Northern Arapaho have lived with the Eastern Shoshone on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming and are federally recognized as the Arapahoe Tribe of the Wind River Reservation. The Southern Arapaho live with the Southern Cheyenne in Oklahoma. Together, their members are enrolled as the federally recognized Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes.

Name

The Arapaho autonym is Hinono'eino or Inun-ina (“our people” or “people of our own kind”), when referring to the tribe they use Hinono'eiteen (Arapaho Nation).

Arapaho language

The Arapaho (Arapahoe) language (in Arapaho: Hinónoʼeitíít ) is one of the Plains Algonquian languages, closely related to Gros Ventre and other Arapahoan languages. It is spoken by the Arapaho people of Wyoming and Oklahoma. Speakers of Arapaho primarily live on the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming, though some have affiliation with the Cheyenne people living in western Oklahoma.

Classification

Arapaho is an Algonquian language of the Algic family.

Current status

PCI Express

PCI Express (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express), officially abbreviated as PCIe, is a high-speed serial computer expansion bus standard, designed to replace the older PCI, PCI-X, and AGP bus standards. PCIe has numerous improvements over the older standards, including higher maximum system bus throughput, lower I/O pin count and smaller physical footprint, better performance scaling for bus devices, a more detailed error detection and reporting mechanism (Advanced Error Reporting, AER), and native hot-plug functionality. More recent revisions of the PCIe standard provide hardware support for I/O virtualization.

The PCI Express electrical interface is also used in a variety of other standards, most notably in ExpressCard as a laptop expansion card interface, and in SATA Express as a computer storage interface.

Format specifications are maintained and developed by the PCI-SIG (PCI Special Interest Group), a group of more than 900 companies that also maintain the conventional PCI specifications. PCIe 3.0 is the latest standard for expansion cards that is in production and available on mainstream personal computers.

Arapaho

by: Arapaho

I saw a foreign angel
She brushed across my dream
She didn't stay to kiss me
She's the prettiest girl I've ever seen
And I wonder why she called me
Is it 'cause I'm old and weak?
And I wonder if it's time to die
To fold my wings and go to sleep
So, I see you on a rainbow in the sky
I see you reach down and touch the sky
I see you on a rainbow in the sky
I see you my beautiful butterfly
I've always been a wild man
But you don't seem to care
Your rainbow wings envelope me
And carry me through the open air
And now my friends are cryin...
We're brothers don't you see
There's more out there in rainbow land
For a butterfly and me
So, I see you on a rainbow in the sky
I see you reach down and touch the sky
I see you on a rainbow in the sky
I see you my beautiful butterfly
(butterfly, butterfly)
I see you on a rainbow in the sky
I see you reach down and touch the sky
I see you on a rainbow in the sky
I see you my beautiful butterfly
I see you on a rainbow in the sky
I see you reach down and touch the sky
I see you on a rainbow in the sky
I see you my beautiful butterfly
My beautiful butterfly
My butterfly
