Aran Islands

The Aran Islands (Irish: Oileáin Árann—pronunciation: [əlʲˈɑːnʲ ˈɑːrənʲ]) or The Arans (na hÁrainneacha—[nə ˈhɑːrənʲəxə]) are a group of three islands located at the mouth of Galway Bay, on the west coast of Ireland. They constitute the barony of Aran in County Galway, Ireland.

From west to east the islands are: Inishmore (Árainn Mhór/Inis Mór—[ˈɑːrənʲ woːr] or [ˈiniʃ moːr]), the largest; Inishmaan (Inis Meáin/Inis Meadhóin—[ˈɪnɪɕ mʲɑːn]), the second-largest; and Inisheer (Inis Thiar/Inis Oírr/Inis Oirthir—[ˈiniʃ hiər / iːrʲ / erʲhirʲ]), the smallest.

The 1,200 inhabitants primarily speak Irish, the language used in local placenames. Most islanders are also fluent in English.

Mor clan

Mor or Maur or Maurya is gotra of Jats found in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh Punjab and Haryana states in India.

Distribution

They are found in Punjab. Mor population is 3,300 in Patiala district.

There are number of villages in Chittorgarh district, Rajasthan, where the Mors were recording as residing in 2003. These statistics referred to six families or less and the locations were Deokheda, Jamlawda and Subi. Similarly, there are small numbers in the Nimach district of Madhya Pradesh, in Nimach, Bagpipalya, Dhokalkheda, Harnawda, Harwar, Khor Vikram, Kundala and Nanpuriya.

Occasionally, the term Maran or Moran has been used of various patriarchs and catholicoi. The Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch, the Malankara Orthodox Catholicos and the Syro-Malankara Major Archbishop Catholicos use the title Moran Mor. Sometimes the Indian bearers of this title are called Moran Mar, using a hybrid style from both Syriac dialects that reflects somewhat the history of Syrian Christians in Kerala. The Pope of Rome is referred to as Mar Papa by the Nasranis (Saint Thomas Christians) of India.

James Hardiman Library

The James Hardiman Library (Irish: Leabharlann Shéamais Uí Argadáin) is the main library at NUI Galway in Ireland. It is situated on the main campus, beside the Arts/Science Concourse, the Arts Millennium Building and Aras na Gaelige. It is named after James Hardiman who was the first Librarian in the university. The library spans four floors and houses 424,843 books and 1,645 study spaces. In October 2009 work began on an extending the library. The extension was to house the nursing library which was previously located in Dangan.

The library houses the John Huston Archive (John Huston), the John McGahern Archive (John McGahern), the Brendan Duddy Archive (Brendan Duddy), the Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe Archive,</red>the Druid Theatre Archive, (Druid Theatre Company) and the Lyric Theatre Archive. In 2014 the Kevin Boyle (lawyer) archive was added for the study of human rights.

Access to Research at NUI Galway (ARAN) is the university's repository of research publications, including peer-reviewed articles, working papers and conference papers by the university's researchers, and is maintained by the James Hardiman Library.
