In a computer or data transmission system, to reset means to clear any pending errors or events and bring a system to normal condition or initial state usually in a controlled manner. It is usually done in response to an error condition when it is impossible or undesirable for a processing activity to proceed and all error recovery mechanisms fail. A computer storage program would normally perform a "reset" if a command times out and error recovery schemes like retry or abort also fail.
Most of the computers have the "reset" bus that brings the device into the startup state and is active for a short time after powering on. Reset is less dangerous for the hardware than power cycling as the power is not removed. Many computers, especially older models, have the user accessible "reset" button. Out-of-band management also frequently provides the possibility to reset the remote system.
Many memory-capable digital circuits (flip-flops, registers, counters and so on) accept the reset signal that sets them to the pre-determined state. This signal is often applied after powering on but may also be applied under other circumstances.
The ability for an electronic device to be able to reset itself in case of error or abnormal power loss is an important aspect of embedded system design and programming. This ability can be observed with everyday electronics such as a television, audio equipment or the electronics of a car, which are able to function as intended again even after having lost power suddenly. A sudden and strange error with a device might sometimes be fixed by removing and restoring power, making the device reset. Some devices, such as portable media players, very often have a dedicated reset button as they are prone to freezing or locking up. The lack of a proper reset ability could otherwise possibly render the device useless after a power loss or malfunction.
A soft reset is performed by restarting system software without resetting the hardware.
reset is also an Windows Terminal Server command. The syntax is RESET { SESSION }.
In addition, reset is a BSD/Linux/UNIX command to restore a console to a normal state. This command is an alias of the tset terminal initialization command. [1]

Reset (Tina Arena album)
Reset is the tenth studio album released by Australian singer and songwriter Tina Arena on 18 October 2013. The first single, "You Set Fire to My Life" was released on 26 September 2013. Despite not being released as a single, "Only Lonely" charted in the top 50 in late November due to being used in an advertisement for the Australian soap opera Home and Away. "Reset All" was released as the second official single on 18 December. Reset is Arena's sixth top 10 album in Australia. Reset was released in the United Kingdom on 3 November 2014.

"You Set Fire to My Life" was released at the first single in September 2013 and peaked at 38. "Reset All" was released as the second single and "Love You Less" was announced as the third single in March 2014, but did not eventuate. "Still Running" was released as the third single in August 2014. The video clip was filmed in Rome and released in July.
In addition to the official singles, "Only Lonely" charted at 32 and gained national interest after it was used in a commercial for the 2013 finale of Channel 7's Home and Away as well as at the 2014 Logie Awards.
Reset (Norwegian band)
Reset is a Norwegian musical group.
Reset started as a one man studio project in 1994 by Stig Antonsen, but was never finished. He decided to start again in 1996 with two friends, Trude Barstad and Christian Onshus. They released a single in the summer of 1996 called "U R My Dream" on the Sony Music label Dance Pool. The group split up after only six months together.
In late 1998 Stig was working with Camilla Henningsen on "Oh What A Day", a song that later would be included on the "Play" album. They decided to start Reset again and called in Thomas Borgvang, a local Radio DJ. The first song that was recorded with all 3 members was "Makin' Me Feel". The band performed their first gig in December 1998 at the NRJ Christmas-party at the Oslo Spektrum together with artists such as Snap!, Sash!, Solid Base & Jocelyn Brown.
2 months later, they signed a 4 album deal with the German record-company Edel Records. The single "Blue" was released in June 1999 and is until today the biggest selling Norwegian dance single ever, selling 18,000 copies. Their next single "Get Me" also became a huge success and reached a top 5 position on the Norwegian charts. In November 1999 Reset released their debut album Play and a few months later they received a Gold record for the album in Norway. They also released "Makin' Me Feel" as a single in 2000.
Banco de Gaia
Banco de Gaia is an electronic music band from England, formed in 1989 by Toby Marks (born 1964, South London).
The music of Banco de Gaia is best categorized as ambient dub, but Marks works to cross genres, often using Arabic and Middle Eastern samples against a bass heavy reggae, rock, or trance rhythm to produce deeply textured tracks that progress layer upon layer.
History
In 1978, Marks began his musical career as a drummer in a heavy metal band.
Marks moved to Portugal in 1986 and played Beatles music for tourists. He first delved into electronic music in 1989, when he bought a digital sampler. The first tune he recorded on it was called "Maxwell House."
Having cut his teeth on the early 90s Ambient Dub compilations, in 1994 he released his first studio album Maya on Planet Dog records, which was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize on its release. It was followed in 1995 by the critically acclaimed Last Train to Lhasa. Both albums reached No1 in the UK independent charts and featured in the national album chart top 40. Apollo (1906 automobile)
The Apollo was made by the Chicago Recording Scale Company, of Waukegan, Illinois, from 1906 to 1907. The only model by that manufacturer was a five-seater with a Roi-des-Belges body. Power came from a water-cooled four-cylinder engine by way of a three-speed transmission and shaft drive.
Stockholm Syndrome (band)
Stockholm Syndrome is an American Rock music band formed in Athens, Georgia as a collaboration between Dave Schools of Widespread Panic and Jerry Joseph of Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons. The two enlisted Los Angeles drummer Wally Ingram (Jackson Browne and Sheryl Crow), San Francisco guitarist Eric McFadden (who had previously worked with Keb' Mo', Primus, Les Claypool, and the P Funk All Stars), and German keyboardist Danny Dziuk. Dziuk however, has since been replaced on tour by Gov't Mule keyboardist Danny Louis.
Originally intended as a one-time studio side-project for the musicians, the band released an album in 2004, Holy Happy Hour, and then went on a nationwide tour in support of the album. The band has toured intermittently since then and on February 16, 2010 they released a live EP, "Stockholm Syndrome Live at Streetlight Records," which was recorded during an in-store performance at Streetlight Records in Santa Cruz in September 2009. The band has said that they have gotten another full-length album ready for release.
