Anthony Hoffman

Anthony Hoffman (August 12, 1739 – 1790) was an American politician from New York.

Life

He was born on April 14, 1766, the son of Col. Martinus Hoffman and Tryntje (Benson) Hoffman. He graduated from Kings College (now Columbia College). He owned large areas of real estate in Dutchess County, and lived in Red Hook. He became active in politics, first as a Patriot, and later as a Federalist. He married Mary Rutgers (died 1815), and they had one daughter: Eliza (Hoffman) Rutgers.

He was a delegate to the 1st, 3rd and 4th New York Provincial Congresses, a delegate to the New York State Constitutional Convention of 1777; a member of the New York State Assembly (Dutchess Co.) in 1777–78 and 1778–79; Supervisor of the Town of Rhinebeck from 1781 to 1785; again a member of the State Assembly in 1784; a Regent of the University of the State of New York from 1784 to 1787; and a member of the New York State Senate (Middle D.) from 1788 until his death in 1790, sitting in the 11th, 12th and 13th New York State Legislatures.

Anthony (film editor)

Anthony (born Llewellyn Anthony Gonsalves on 11 September 1973 in Chennai, India) is a Tamil film editor. He has worked in over twenty Tamil, Malayalam,Kannada and Telugu language films. This makes him one of the few editors to have worked for the four biggest film industries in India.

Career

Anthony studied a degree in Literature at Madras Christian College, Tambaram, but found himself unsure of a career path once he has finished his education. Following suggestions from his friends, he began learning about animation at Prasad Studio and subsequently also enrolled to learn about editing. He thereafter, received offers to work on corporate ads, trailers and documentaries from 1993 for Edit Point and continued to work in the same practice til 2004, often collaborating with leading ad film makers like Rajiv Menon. He then began to work on editing songs in films occasionally, also gaining experience by editing tele-films. Director Gautham Menon asked Anthony to edit the song "Ennai Konjam" in Kaakha Kaakha for the audio release event of that film, and impressed with his work for that song and he asked him to sign on as the film's editor. He has since associated with the biggest technicians in South Indian cinema, collaborating regularly with directors including Shankar, AR Murugadoss, Gautham Menon, Linguswamy, K. V. Anand and A. L. Vijay.

Origin

Anthony was a great singer and his album "Crow Sangeet" (Crow Music) became very popular all over the world. He was murdered by jealousy and later resurrected by nature itself. Now he is undead and as long as his soul is out of his body, his corpse lies motionless. Though several times his corpse was possessed by numerous enemies including Count Dracula.

Plot Summary

The late Anthony Gonsalvez, a young music enthusiast, composed an original album entitled "Crow Music." This album became very popular, much to the dismay of his competitors. He was tortured to death by his rivals. He is fondly remembered by his wife Julia and daughter Maria and his pet crow Prince still sits on his tombstone to mourn his death.

Whenever innocent people are subjected to injustice, Prince cries out, loud and shrill, in the graveyard. The air trembles, the clouds thunder, lightning flashes, and the dead man Anthony rises out of his grave to render the justice.

The Hoffman had two prototype vehicles built by the R.C. Hoffman company of Detroit, Michigan in 1931. They were front-drive vehicles, powered by Lycoming straight-8 engines. The wheels were carried on solid load-bearing axles. Semi-elliptical springs were equipped on the front end, along with torque arms.

Mark Hoffman

Detective Lieutenant Mark Hoffman is a fictional character from the Saw franchise. He is portrayed by Australian actor Costas Mandylor. While the character was first shown as a police officer in Saw III, later films in the series have expanded his role and revealed him to be an apprentice, and subsequently the successor of the Jigsaw Killer. Like his mentor and partner, he designs death traps that, for survivors, give them reason to appreciate their lives. On the other hand, he has no emotion towards his victims, and in general, brandishes a very monotone personality.

Saw III

Saw III briefly showed Hoffman during the investigation of Troy's chain trap. Hoffman was shown to be listening in on Lieutenant Daniel Rigg's conversation with Allison Kerry about Jigsaw's ability to continue his work. Unnoticed by the others, Hoffman pocketed a chain fragment from the traps' aftermath and commented as to why the door had to be cut open by the police to secure the crime scene. He was very apathetic and glib while speaking to Rigg and Kerry. Rigg showed that this bothered him. Amanda and Hoffman then place Allison Kerry in a trap which kills her even though she did as she was instructed to, revealing that this was a trap meant to kill her.
