Anpadh (Hindi: अन्पढ, Urdu: اَنپد, translation: illiterate) is a 1962 Hindi film. The film stars Dharmendra, Mala Sinha, Shashi Kala and Balraj Sahni. The music is by Madan Mohan and the lyrics by Raja Mehdi Ali Khan. The film focuses on the importance of education for girls. This movie also has hit songs like the evergreen song Aap ki nazron nay samjha sung by Lata Mangeshkar
Chaudhary Shambhunath considers the accumulation of wealth to be more important than education. He condones his sister's inattention at school and consequently she grows up anpadh (illiterate). When she finds herself married to a bibliophile her problems really begin. Unable to read the poetry her husband loves and being a rotten cook too, she becomes despised by her husband and her in-laws. Circumstances conspire to leave her homeless, widowed and pregnant. Narrowly escaping from the attentions of a panderer she falls amongst friends and, with the birth of her daughter, she starts on the long road to redemption. An entertaining plea for education in general and for the education of girls in particular.
If what you want is out of sight, and all thats there is black and white,
Its easier to choose the wrong path.
But if you choose to believe, a painting your life can be,
With a light on youll see, color right on.
And with it, will be the life that we want,
Without it, we will throw away what we got,
So we will, so we will, not give in.
CHORUS
When we fall from our dreams its hard to pick ourselves up,
But its all in our heads; its all in our heads!
When we think theres nothing left, its hard to convince ourselves,
That its all in our heads, its all in our heads!
No when you fall in to this hell, theres others here, you just cant tell.
And like you, theyre all needing help.
But if theres still room to breath, then hope will show you the way,
To a new world where light, will surround you.
And with it, will be the life that we want,
Without it, we will throw away what we got,
So we will, so we will, not give in.
CHORUS
So, just believe, and we will feel, so alive,
And we will find the perfect way to survive.
Then we will be, so in love,
With the lives, that once has us, in denial.
CHORUS
If what you want is out of sight, and all thats there is black and white,
Its easier to choose the wrong path.
But if you choose to believe, a painting your life will be,
