Annette Robinson
Annette Robinson represents District 56 in the New York State Assembly, which includes most of Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Chosen in a special election held in 2002, in which she garnered over 90% of the vote, she currently serves as the District Leader/State Committeewoman for the 56th Assembly District. She has been employed in a variety of capacities in the past, including as a member of the Community School Board for District 16,
where she served three terms-as Coordinator and Liaison for former New York City Comptroller Harrison J. Goldin, for six years, and as District Director for former Congressman Major Owens.
City Council
Prior to her election to the Assembly Robinson was the Councilwoman for District 36 in the New York City Council, which she had represented since 1991.
Affiliations
In addition to her work in the New York Assembly, Robinson is the Vice-Chairwoman of the New York State Council of Black Elected Democrats.
Education
She holds B.S. and Master's degrees from New Hampshire College.
